Donny, why do you edit your original opening post as much as this, specially when others already has replied?

I know, Donny, that you are strict about the “no hoarding” rule and this rule is partly a reason why you try to limit a number of instruments you have down to one. But it is also vital that you actually like more than one keyboard and personally I don’t think that this “hoarding” term applies to things which are actually being used. Certainly, I don’t have a full picture of your needs and reasoning; it just seems to me that having E-A7 together with some Korg, Yamaha or Ketron keyboards can get you more focused on music rather than on managing all these changes. But maybe there is such a thing as too much focus.

I already went thru that horrible HOARDING Phase in my life years ago and was lucky to be able to kick the habit. I have been clean for years now and feel so much better not looking at stuff all over gathering dust in the corner, against the walls, in the closet, garage, etc, ....some can live with that but I cannot anymore.
One is enough....but it has to be the right one .

And some never find it. I don't know if that means a person should settle for 'close enough'. Maybe, but if you don't mind living a life of anguish, then have at it, I guess. Sounds like an idea for a country song. smile smile

123, I don’t know about Donny, but when a person searches for a long time, what the are searching for and what they are using for the search do not match.

Yes,Toni, and there is no right or wrong. I respect each decision as their own. I am the opposite because I can be. I have the room to have all my children at attention, and can afford to do what I want. There are many valid arguments for concentrating on one instrument, and learning every nook and cranny. Then, there are equally good reasons for enjoying the difference strong points of various makers. I have many projects going on at the same time. Does this make me scattered? Not if it allows me to wake up every morning anxious to get to work on my music. This wouldn't be so good for the gigging pro doing daily gigs, but I slowed down to three a week, and enjoy taking different boards and material to all of them. Just sayin....

Donny You just said how much you like the EA7 again, so do what you like but I think take a deep breath and don't jump on your latest idea so fast. You went back to the EA7 a few times so there must be something really good about it.
If $$$ is not the problem and I don't think it is as you bought and sold a Genous hold onto the EA7 while you try your new idea.
In any case good luck, you do keep us interested.

Having witnessed this several times, I am past the "shock value" now. As others have said-it's his business. I suspect part of the motive behind it is the "fun factor" with a new board which is undeniable.

i'm still searching for that keyboard that draws me to it to play, makes me want to play, create . last keyboard that did that was my b3 ans a roland tr 505 drum machine. even then i was always trying to make it better. the newer stuff is sooooo far advance but there is STILL something not right, something missing. maybe its in us. keep looking donny and dont ever give up.

I think what your missing is what a lot of us are missing. The total immersion into playing. The Arrangers take a lot of the load off of us and thats good for certain situations. I too miss Playing my B3, kicking bass on the pedals and having two other keyboards and a drum machine around me. Music moves on. The most satisfaction I get now is playing my FP90 piano. Just piano, nothing else with it.

Hit the nail on the head. Today I was in my studio and started 'doodlin' on my SEVEN (Rhodes clone). Two hours later I realized I'd overshot dinner by an hour. Did almost the same thing yesterday on my KeyB (clonewheel). On the 'B3' I even forgot to turn on my drum machine (BK7m). Been playing some form of these boards for the last fifty years and am just as infatuated with them as ever....never bored. There is just something 'spiritual' about playing unaccompanied keyboard (and/or probably guitar as well). It's like starting each painting with a blank canvas and whatever is created is ALL YOU. Every note that is played is played only because YOU decided it should be played. Note, I'm not talking about "filling the dance floor" or "gig profitability" or "portability" or any of the other things drive us to play AI-driven pre-recorded riffs that are as predictable as your teenage kid's first fender-bender.

I'm not saying that you won't enjoy that shiny new arranger (for awhile); I'm just saying that the odds of you still finding it pleasurable and inspiring 40-50 years from now are very, very low (3 1/2 hrs in some cases smile ).

Hey Bill! I got an FP90 digital grand piano too - hooked up to Pianoteq (a piano modeling VST for those not familiar). Yeah. I like playing unaccompanied piano or guitar more than arranger playing, but the arranger pays the bills, and it is a fun toy.

Good luck, Donny with finding the best tool for your self-expression.

I miss playing the Thomas Organs I had years ago....if I could get one today, WITH all the new sounds as well as what it originally was...WOW, that would be pretty sweet!
Let's see, I had a Paramont, a Lawrence Welk, a Trianon (3 manuals), and then a Celebrity Royale (61 note manuals)

Oh the days....

For me the FP90 is great on its own. No additions needed as you can edit the Piano Tone endlessly. I like the Jazz Piano tuning from the Roland App. I even like the onboard speaker and up to this point I hated onboard speakers. I usually don't even turn on my studio PA even though the FP is plugged into it. Happy playing !

OK, Donny, yeah I know what your saying...but how many MFG. has organs can you buy today? A TRX Genos setup is only $7,200 Euros! Plus lot's of shipping charges, Ha, Ha...Lot cheaper than a Roland, Wersi, etc.

Or this may be an option?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lMnSK9oZ6s&list=RD2lMnSK9oZ6s&start_radio=1&t=4

We'll see what happens when I get mine done, if it's a Frankenstein, I'll bail out of it.

Good luck with your sale!
