Yeah Donny, you got me. I noticed my spelling error a while back and waiting to see who would be the first to pick it up....glad it was a scholar and linguist such as yourself. Hopefully, I won't keep REPEATING mine.

On the hand.........
1. I can play my keyboards anytime I want .
2. I have a wife that allows me to buy any keyboard I want . Strange I have no desire for a genos ,sx900 , etc. the only reason she doesn't want me to play out is that she sees the damage it does to my body and spirit but won't stand in my way if I really want to play with some old friends in a jam session.
3 . Kids are raised and out ,
4. I live in a GREAT retirement community with awesome people.
5. I no longer have to worry about having to pay car payments, rent, equipment payments
Kids , tours, not being home for, births,Christmas, school plays etc.
6. No I can't play B3 anymore, can't lift my equipment, can't stay awake past 9 pm to play,
But life with all its challenges is pretty good . It's all about attitude.

Chas,

I noticed a few of our members have developed a case of "Grammar pedantry syndrome"

Chas- all of the above regarding your list..especially practice sessions becoming shorter and including same favorites. And my ability to learn more complicated systems has lessened as the technology increases..

It is difficult to walk into my studio and do what I NEED TO. Even with a heavy gig load, I find myself wanting to do other things when I'm home.

It's called discipline. I just "do it" and once I start into the process, it becomes easier to hang in there and put in a few hours.

I'm sure glad I do, because when I get to the gig, the excitement of doing a newly worked song is refreshing and challenging. If I get stale, I will probably quit. I don't want to quit. Simple as that - choices.

Even after gigging, I trick myself: I usually go back and forth, making dinner, more music, etc. I stand up at home and rehearse so it's not up and down off the chair. My wife is patient with me and lets me do my thing - even after not seeing each other all day.

Well, as Gary says, "Getting old ain't for wimps" ...

Trying to keep my brain functions active, every morning during my second and third cups of coffee, I attempt to finish the crossword puzzle and the Jumble puzzle ... Our local paper publishes 2 crosswords each day - not bragging, but one is so simple its almost 'fill in the blanks' - the other is the LA Times daily puzzle which starts out fairly easy on Monday and gets more difficult as the week progresses ... I usually do pretty well, completing most of them.

I also suffer from 'trigger finger' in both hands ... sometimes I actually have to pry one of them open ... Fortunately, it has not hampered my playing KB ...

Last July I landed in the hospital with a blood pressure of 210/110 ... a few tests later and they found a 50% blockage in one artery- fortunately not bad enough for a stent - Long story short, I got into a cardiac rehab program -two days a week, 4 hours each day, 9 weeks, all with the same group of 12 people ... 1 hour exercise, 1 hour nutrition education, 1 hour group therapy, 1 hour stress management ... 9 weeks later, I lost 21 lbs, my overall cholesterol dropped 20 points to 135, and my exercise energy factor increased by a factor of 3 ...
So now, I'm trying to eat better, exercise at the gym on a regular basis, and pay more attention to stress factors - like the idiot in the car in front of me who is not driving at the speed limit, just sayin' wink
Point is, as we get older, I think we have to be more aware of what we are doing - or not doing - to keep ourselves as healthy as possible ... As one guy at the 'program' put it "I don't necessarily want to live LONGER, but I want to fully enjoy what life I have left" ...

Keep on Keepin' on ...

Chas hang in there, your Grammer will get better with time.
...I understand..the whole system and structure of a language or of languages in general, usually taken as consisting of syntax and morphology (including inflections) and sometimes also phonology and semantics.

Just sayin'
