Loved hearing the Musette demos (wonderful performances all), so I decided to try out the Musette Style on the SX900. Made a quick recording (no video this time) of me playing a medley of "Holiday" tunes (only 2 songs and they are short).
Hope you enjoy listening if you venture to! The French Musette style on the SX900 to me... is "Tres Magnifique"!!! Just sayin'!

HI Rikki - thanks for the listen! Fixed the link - try it now. The songs are "Christmas Don't Be Late" from Alvin and the Chipmunks and of course "My Favorite Things". Fun stuff!

Tony - thanks man! When I was 14 or so I discovered my Dad's old accordion in a closet. Got that thing out and fell in love! Walking around the house playing that thing was fun fun fun! Even took it off to camp with me. I'm sure the relatives didn't enjoy hearing it as much as I enjoyed playing it. Sure have missed the fun of the accordion and the wonderful performances posted here spurred me into venturing a try. Those two tunes worked well w/that style. Have fun through the holidays and I hope Julie and Alvin are smiling.... Just sayin'! HA HA

Randy, started on accordion at age 13 ... Grandfather and uncle played ... Had it shipped to me while I was taking armor training at Ft. Knox ... Lots of fun ...

Randy, Very nice! Brought back memories, as kids we must have worn out the record one Christmas at my grandparents home. I bet we played it over and over about 20 times. Thanks for posting.

Tony - yes, I sure miss all the fun of that bygone era! That's wonderful that you are carrying on the family tradition! Our old accordion is long gone now, but I am grateful that the keyboards do such a fine job of emulating them.

Thanks for the listens Salsaman, Steve and Mitch! Yep Steve - that song got some "serious mileage" when we were kids! While I was playing it yesterday, the wife yelled "Alvin!" a few times! HA HA. NOTE - she calls me Alvin as a pet name so it was even more funny to hear her yell that! SX900 Rocks!

That thing sounds just like a dang old accordion. Did you hear about the guy who left his accordion in the back seat of his car? When he came back the window was broken and there were TWO of them there. Seriously, sounds great. Love old Alvin.

Haha, good one.
I have a set of 3 little battery operated chipmunks , that sing Xmas carols, reminded me so much of Alvin and co. couldn’t resist.
Randy , have to agree the accordion sounds very realistic.
One song for me that I tend to associate with accordion is La Vien Rose. Hint, hint, hint. Haha

Thanks Don! Yes, the good old days! Guess those things were "the arrangers" of their time in a manner of speaking. Different voices to choose and some degree of rhythm from the buttons on the backside. Good story about someone so anxious to part that they busted a winder! HA HA! Thanks for the listen!

Rikki - Yes, those lovable little Chipmunks! And their voices are so angelic! HA HA!
"La Vie En Rose" - OK - I will put that on the "to-to list" for the accordion style. In the meantime, here is a version that I did a few years back - played the backing on the Tyros 2 (Etherial Voices I think) freeplay style. Worked the melody on my soprano saxophone. Hope you like this version. It is indeed a beautiful melody!
