Not much difference, if any difference at all from T4 that I had before Genos. Probably same at T5. ๐Ÿค”

Since many people are interested in the sound of the
Genos buttons when pressed....
I have recorded what they sound like for you.
Hope this solves the curiosity.

This is a situation where I think a video would have been better so one could see what buttons are being pressed and how... I don't think I've ever heard buttons on any KB sound like that ...

The SX900 buttons are whisper quiet ... a feature I appreciate in a professional setting, especially while recording.

+1 Agree Dave - the buttons on SX are smooth and quiet. Nice touch and appearance.

The only buttons that's not making noise on Genos, is the turnable knobs and sliders.
That said, it has never bothered me, because usually the speakers soundlevel is higher, and if use earphones, I don't hear the 'clicks' either.
Never asked other people in the house if it's annoying though... don't going to ask either ... they may start notice it..... ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Tony ALL buttons were used on genos ...
recorded with my cell phone right on top....
any genos owners can do the same easily a video is not needed.
I will say while you playing you do not hear any clicking at all.
That said I like the bigger sturdier buttons on Geno..

I was afraid of that....that is a problem I'm not sure I can live with...when playing at home fairly low volume and quiet passages...when pushing those switches...POW....you hear a damn loud click. Wander why they (Yamaha) do not see that as a problem??

Hi Dave,
something that would never have occurred to me. I suppose if recording keyboard only, it would be directly from the lines out? but for voice if youโ€™re playing and singing it needs to be quiet. I suppose other option would be to sing to a backing track. I donโ€™t sing but that option sounds like it might take away some of the spontaneity?

Again, something that wouldnโ€™t have occurred to me. My keybed on the S950 used to annoy me, it was a bit clickety , clack.

You have to play that softly that youโ€™ think youโ€™d hear the buttons click?

Quiet rubber buttons on PSR-S950 were fine to me as long as they worked properly. After some time they tend to become less responsive and it becomes a problem. Not only me complained about it. "Clicky" buttons on PSR-3000 (some of them rubber, others plastic) are working fine till now.

My buttons were fine too. It was a few of my keys that had a weird clicky sound.

Yup, sometimes I like to make a quick recording of a live performance, so I need to sing, and play to get the right feeling. A live mic can pickup lots of room noises, including key clicks, and button pushes. For serious stuff ... I record a rough vocal track, and replace it later with no interference.

Like those of you who have had T2, T3, T4, T5 and now Genos the noise the buttons make are never a factor. At a gig the sound level of the board/Mauiโ€™s overpowers any buttons. For recording when I do itโ€™s directly to the keyboard so once again not a problem. On occasions Iโ€™ve used my iPhone to record and placed it NOT on top of the keyboard but nearby, I donโ€™t recall it ever picking up the clicks. Even my wife who has the x-ray vision version of hearing has never complained about button clicks. For me itโ€™s a non-issue.

Yikes we do tend to be critical of technology that we never dreamed of back in the 70s when all we played was acoustic piano or maybe a hefty B3 or other keyboard.

Not keyclick reltated, but on the SX900 you can select whether you want a sound when you press an icon, and whether than sound is sent to the outputs.

Guys I am talking about playing in my living room in front of maybe a few friends.....a good example is changing ots at a new part of the song or maybe at the quiet end of a performance....where you push a button for an ending.

No one here has experienced this??

Lee, For me and I only speak for me itโ€™s a non-issue living room or not. I have played for friends at home and not a soul ever said โ€œwhatโ€™s that awful key click.โ€ Seems they were always more impressed with the sound coming out of the board and a control panel that some say โ€œlooks like a space ship.โ€

I'm not sure at SX or Genos, it has to be 'investigated' by look into the manuals.
But, if use the registrations for what's it's worth, maybe it's possible to assign the route from 1 and up to be changed via footcontroller? ๐Ÿค”
If so, no keyclicks needed during the song, but you have to create proper registrations for each song.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned the foot switch up to now, also applies to the registration topic earlier.
I use it all the time for registration changes.
OOPS!! off topic.

Yes...I know about all the things you can do with the foot pedals...AND IF you have a Genos and a MIDI foot controller you have lots of foot switches AND foot pedals if wanted.
In fact my Yamaha HS series organs had a foot sw on the left and right of the expression pedal for assignable use as well....cool! Oh and of course a knee lever to use for stuff as well.... 16 pistons for Registration changes also were great (yes I said 16).....Those were great instruments....
If you cound take a Genos and a HS series organ and marry them together...WOW what an instrument it would be.
