Donny your post won’t even open for me otherwise when I posted my link it had been on YouTube for only three hours unless it was a re-post on YouTube as far as I knew it was a new demo
Sorry if I double posted
Jim

Sorry I didn’t look at the other threads before my original post.
I did YouTube “recent” search and quickly shared the 3 hr old upload as I was quickly getting ready to leave for my day gig. My bad I guess.
But the link you posted on this thread doesn’t lead anywhere except open a new copy of this same post
Anyway, here’s part 2 demo by same guy uploaded about 45 minutes ago
part 2
Enjoy
Jim

Nice styles. Drums sound great. Love the integration with Cubase!
Good find Donny.

I think the styles have a bit more oomph, but, of coarse, this may not be OOTB. In any event, I believe that is was Donny that advised making up your songs, first, with factory styles. The data from previous models to be added as needed. To me, this makes a lot of sense, rather than bring everything over from an S950 or 970 and not auditioning the new styles. I have been considering replacing my S970, but have tones of registrations already in place. I don't yet know if I will upgrade.

He’s definitely got the compressor cranked up on the drums in the first style. Not necessarily a bad thing...ala “My Sharona”.

I am sorry, but this demo does nothing for me.. I don't like the sounds used and it is German sounding styles.

It doesn't get close to a Genos sound.

Uncle Dave's demo post interested me in the first 4 minutes.. after that,.... well I don't think the SX900 will be coming my way smile

I think Genos owners are laughing silently.. grin

Don't get me wrong, there is a big price difference... but really listen to what you are getting.

Touch screen and a reported better key feel (better than PSR is nothing to write home about,, if it matches Tyros 5.. maybe)

Bernie IMO its always better to start from scratch with a new keyboard so you get all the latest features in sound and style etc, it's more fun and you will be surprised what new ideas you can come up with doing it this way......if you A/B the styles Old vs New you will hear different nuances, & parts here and there that are different from the same style.
Yes it takes a bit of time to recreate but after the homework is done you will be better off in the long run and then you can add those certain styles not offered in the original factory library for that unique song, etc,..Regarding the OOTB sound On the Sx900 you will definitely have to dig in to the EQ/Compression and adjust the sound to your liking,..... it absolutely makes a BIG difference
in the overall sound.

haters will be haters your last Yamaha
ended up on the curb! ... rotf2

Now...after that you will try Uncle Daves Sx900 for a few minutes....
and post a review on how better the G70 is. laugh2
The only time this repeated scenario ever changes is when ROLAND finally or if at all releases a brand new arranger keyboard.

Fran has found perfection in the G70. As Dave stated...it was built by JC. Hard to compete with that smile

I have never and never will, write a review about something without knowing what I am talking about grin

I always test for several days if I am going to give an opinion..

And I always do a comparison as a benchmark.

It will take more than a new Roland to persuade me..
I have owned every Roland arranger and still pass over the BK9 and for that matter the EA7..(available). smile

My opinion of the SX900 is based on the comparison to the Genos.. As folks want to compare the two.
The Genos is clearly the top model and the SX is no match.. Compare to other keyboards in the same class... we will soon see. wink

How can you compare the sx900 to genos with a $2500 dollar difference
almost 2x the price there is a reason for that.
and in no way are they comparable imo for so many reasons technically and beyond.
They are miles apart...it would be closer to the s975.
