Most musicians when they sit on a bench/stool, slouch, which puts a lot of strain on the back, however if you look at pro musicians like piano/organ players they always sit upright to prevent these problems, therefore you need to get into the habit of always sitting upright if you want to solve the problem. A seat with a back that has good lumbar support can certainly help, as it tends to force you to sit upright. (If you can get into the habit of sitting upright without help though all the better)

Anyone else using a drummer throne, with backrest? https://www.k-m.de/us/products/drummer-s...e-gomezz-chromeI am having some problems with my lower back off lately I wanna try a new drummer throne, which sits about 15 cm higher then my piano bench Anyone got experience with this? Do they work well with keyboards? Here is the one I am using: https://www.guitarcenter.com/TAMA/1st-Ch...500000022576.gc My low back troubled me for a few years, especially during gigs. Now I can play for hours without problem. Have been using it for several years now. Well worth the money. Eric

That's fine for you,Donny, because you sit low and use any chair. I use a round throne like Eric. It is super comfortable, good back support, raises to my correct height using pedals, and breaks down in seconds.

My freakin' "Cajones" still hurt from using that type of stool it's a crotch destroyer!!! OUCH!!...sitter BEWARE Thank goodness for 45 day returns. Definitely need to test before i buy... Yea it feels good when your first sit down..I'm talking about 4 hrs being in the saddle that little bump in the crotch area will get to ya after a while, it's there so drummers don't slide forward when they play.......the throne Nigel recommended previously is perfect and comfy....... http://www.soundseat.com/Many Options, Made in the USA, and nothing is better IMO If you care about your back go for it. I have played my KB sitting on the throne for more than 5 hours more than once with no problems Eric
