Wonderful Tonight - is a ballad written by Eric Clapton. It was included on Clapton's 1977 album Slowhand.
Clapton wrote the song about Pattie Boyd.,....

I always loved playing and singing this song.
I really enjoy the Slower Bossa version (Michael Buble`)
and experimented with it in different ways,
..still a work in progress,....enjoy cool2

PS My wife has Red hair.. wink

BTW.... I would love to Hear other version
by SZ members of this tune for inspiration...

I have versions from EA7, BK9, BK7m, PA4X, PA3X, PA900, SD7, SD40, Audya, PSR S970. The PA4X is a midi-to-style conversion. The best sounding are the Audya, of course, and, believe it or not, the S970. However, I think all of them are really good. All of them are in the Clapton arrangement.
It's one of the most popular songs I do. I change the color of the hair according to who is in the room, but normally do "long, soft hair". One night I did short curly hair. smile

Nice treatment, Donny, ...
Like Don, I don't stray far from the original ...

A few weeks back I was subbing for a friend at his restaurant gig ... I didn't get 2 bars into the into and there were 2 couples on the dance floor and more following ... It's an iconic intro ...

Not so much on doing the song in that Style but a very good job and great vocals.

IMO just an OK arrangment. Donny did a,good job on the vocals but something just doesn't sit right with me with that song in that Style. I do love Bossa's and all Larin influenced music. Also never a big Buble fan. I could never understand why he made it so big. He himself said it was mostly luck and plenty of singers on Starsearch were better singers. Just the roll of the dice in the music business.

He has one of the best bands in the business, and great arrangements.

His right hand man on guitar is also a super player.

We could sound pretty good behind this group. grin

Same holds true with Frank Sinatra - hard to go wrong with the Count Basie Orchestra, Tommy Dorsey Band and Nelson Riddle Orchestra. Glenn Campbell had about 40 pieces behind him at most of his concerts. However, they possessed incredible vocal talents and had some incredible writers, just like Buble.

Cheers,

Gary cool

I'm in agreement with Tony on this one. The iconic, Eric Clapton intro immediately filled dance floors for me every time I performed this song. I used a song specific style file for this one that included that intro and I stuck strictly to the style used by Clapton.

Attached is the Yamaha style I used for the song,

Gary cool
