I love the "thickness of the sounds" Organs and Pianos & EP too
and Drawbars..maybe a NORD Electro 6D & a Roland BK7
for styles could be fun?

But in the end I still lean towards the Hammond SK sound...
you be the judge.. headphone

Has anyone "A/B'd" this with the SK1 (esp. for the Hammond/B3 type sounds)?

Just woke up and already have a headache looking & listening to all these kbs.....enough is enough! After breakfast I'll fire up my S670 and say to myself..."man this thing sounds so good" why do I need anything else right now? The choices out there are so slim and getting older day by day. With a few key pushes I could have anything at my door tomorrow but for what? open the box try it a few times and then say to myself "I didn't really need this " then send it back so it doesn't collect dust doing nothing in a closet.....or in some cases talk myself into liking it which lets me keep it a week or so longer then return it?....or start to remember why I returned or sold things for whatever reason "last time" I had it.

GAS(Gear Acquisition Syndrome) may be pushed into remission, only to rear it's ugly head at a later date without warning. I know because I am a happy, sick puppy.

Oh, I do understand! I had convinced myself to wait for the next major new series of kb's before moving up. But you convinced me to go for the 670 now. I am concerned that I'm really moving up as I have the 3000 now. I've been reading the manual (don't have the unit yet and live to far from anywhere that may have one) and getting excited about a couple of things that should make a difference to me. Number 1 is the classic guitar sound with built in bends. That should make a big difference on my country songs! Another feature I found last night when reading was the live control that allows easy adding and droping of parts in the styles. I know I can do that now with the mixer control but its hard to do in real time. This will allow on the fly live control. The only big question remaining is, Does the unit sound better than my 3000. Obviously only time will tell. BTW, I'm getting it from Sweetwater. A demo for $720.00 so I figure I can't go to far wrong.

Donny
One more thing, if I may;
Part of this may be undefined unrest or boredom due to a transition to semi retirement. You are so used to going full tilt, and have done so for many years. Now, you are trying to appease this feeling with a keyboard which does the job, but not many challenges.

I remain a big fish in a small pond, but make up for it by having many music projects and work to present each one, in time, to my audience two or three days a week. I may be fooling myself that they can tell the difference, but I can, so I pretend it is a big performance. My self deception is so complete that I wake up early in the morning, eager to work on a project.

This is my result from GAS
