Has anyone here used this little stereo KB amp? I'm thinking about using it as a mini PA for low volume events , and a monitor when I use a full PA system. Also it can be powered with batteries which would be nice for some out door wedding ceremonies I have coming up.

I did like my Roland SA 1000 - I wish I still had it...., but didn't care for the BA 330. Maybe my expectations were too high? All the mono Roland KB amps sounds pretty bad too me, so hopefully the KC 220 stereo amp will work out for me?

My advice take your KB to the store and play
thru it at performance volume with vocals....
you don't want any surprises or have return hassles.

I also did not care for the ba330 . it is more powerful than the kc200 so if you didn't like the 300 the 200 would not be better. I bought the bose s1 pro and I could not be happier. It comes with a rechargable battery pack or runs on ac with the same power. It is a little beast. Very powerful and since I got it I very seldom use my bose compacts, in fact I liked so much I bought a second s1 so I can run in stereo. Wow what a great sound for a little system. Just my opinion.

Trying it out before purchase would be ideal but I highly doubt it’s in stock anywhere in Dallas....

Mel, I’m sure those Bose are nice but they’re a bit pricy and I do want an all in one stereo package.

I just went through the specs on the Roland KC-220, draws just 500ma, which calculates out to 6-watts. The peak power is rated at 30-watts, so by and large, your keyboard's onboard sound system is twice as powerful and, obviously, balanced to the keyboard.

When I had some small, living-room and deck parties to play, I often used the onboard system with a couple homemade speaker covers that deflected the sound outward toward the audience. This was a great setup for these situations and never got a complaint that it was not loud enough. The speaker covers looked a lot like air scoops on a hot-rod car and were made from black cardboard and held in place with Velcro. Additionally, the scoops prevented any feedback yet allowed sufficient sound to reach the player for monitoring.

Once you get above 20 ppl in the audience, I think your standard sound system comes into play in order to provide the needed coverage.

Hope this helps,

Gary

Check out Lucas Nano. Full stereo from one unit, light weight, reasonable cost, extremely good sound.

I have paid for the item at Guitar Center and then returned them because I was not satisfied with the product. They give you 30 days, so why guess.

It doesn‘t have a line out, but would you really need that? You could e.g. connect the Konnect (!) with the phones out and ccnnect a mixer with the line out of your keyboard.

Nano 300/302 etc. are more powerful (my estimate is about twice the effective wattage) but also twice the weight, so it depends on how much power you need.

when two speakers eg KC220 are that close together not much stereo is effective vs a spread out stereo image layout..

Thanks y’all . So many options my head is spinning! Actually at this point i really need a bigger mixer for my band, so I’ll put the little amp idea on hold for now...,

Paul since you already enjoy the smaller Yamaha MG 6X series mixers
for your small work why not for the band just look at the larger
MG 12XU should fill all you needs..
