First, I do not want to open a file to edit it.

I have STYs that contain multiple song styles for my KORG Pa1000. I can load them individually or bulk thru the USB stick. If I load the STYs in bulk they all get saved to a USER bank. They do not tke up all the places in the usere bank. If I try to add another file to the same bank, it overwrites the first set.

I'd like to find a way to view the contents of the larger STY files and put them into a new folder or merge existing folders. Other than loading STYs one-by-one from the USB stick, can I do any arranging or merging theu my PC?

Hi Cass:

Saw your question yesterday but was in the middle of something and could not respond. I suggest you visit the PSR Tutorial site and see if one of Joe's forums may cover this in depth. I don't do it often enough to be proficient. A bit like landing a 747... if you don't "take that big bird around the patch" often, proficiency is at risk. LOL! If you have time, let us know what you found out.

One final thought, Gary or Donny probably know all the answers.

All the best, ----Dave

Cassp,
After you load a bank, can't you move the styles in it to a different location, then load another bank to the default location? I don't have a PA1000 now, and I'm not if front of the PA4X.
The process should just overwrite one bank, not all of them.

Cassp, in the USER section of styles you have 9 categories which you can name (Latin, Rock 1, Country). Each category has room 6 pages with 8 areas to put the styles you are importing. That is room for 432 styles.

In User 1, User2, and User3, you have room for an additional 144 styles. Use the User 1,2,3, to audition the new styles. Then cut and paste to USER section where you created names for each category.
You have room for 576 new styles.

Hope this helps, John C.

Don that's because I just came back from a meeting and I was all wound up with nothing to do.
