I HAVE to admit - with all the demos posted here recently, I have reached my conclusion. I love Yamaha styles. I am in love with the Yamaha mega guitars.

But NOTHING comes close to the final recording quality of the Ketron SD90/60/9. Somehow Ketron makes the instruments stand out one from another. It just sounds perfectly natural.

Also, the vocal harmonizer works perfectly AS IS.

Yes, I did state that the Ketron audio guitars are becoming boring. But they are only a fraction of what is available as a whole.

The launch pad function is really AMAZING and lightyears ahead of everything else. Todays young artists will use this a LOT!

I am glad once again that I own an Audya. Should I ever be in a position for an upgrade again, it will be direct to the SD9/60.

I have listened critically to all our own recondings to date and despie my BEST attempts, nothing beats the final results achieved on my eight year old Audya, even using modified third party styles from other brands.

My "complaint" about Yamaha's "Mega" Voices/Instruments... involves taking a style in a different direction and needing to replace a Mega Instrument with something else needed to carry the song. When you change a Mega... there is a squealing or scratching sound in the background. I have to work around it by simply turning "off" that channel and compensate by finding a Multi-Pad that might fill the void. The other option is to either find a similar (non-Mega) style... or change one of the remaining instruments in the original style. Having choices is a wonderful thing... but I wish Yamaha could find a way to allow Mega Voices to be replaced with other non-Mega voices.

Speaking of Mega... I've begun to really appreciate the Super-Articulated Voices that come with Genos and Tyros... and work quite well on the 970.

Thanks for sharing your opinion regarding Audya. I've never actually laid eyes upon one except in Videos here.

Regards, ----Dave Rice
