Great deals on two great mics!

I have the Sennheiser e935 and it was great at $145... I bet it sounds better at $99!!

I may get the e945 to have a hyper cardiod version!

Nice prices..have paid $169 for new 945.
Donny- did you try a 935 or 835? Big difference in the 800 series vs 900 series. When I went from 835 to 935 it was huge- lots more gain. Ask UD..I have 2 945s now I use for max feedback rejection. The pattern is really tight, if you sing slightly off axis it drops off, so depending you might want to use 935.

I haven't tried the 900 series SENN I would expect no less from a great company like them
I have a draw full of 800 series Senn....
but honestly I am happy with EV mics for years for sired....
but my Mic of choice for Lead vocals is my Shure GLXD24/SM58 wireless simply outstanding!.

I had 945 and it was excellent. Lots of gain, no feedback, no handling noise.
I might just get another while the sale is on. It runs through the end of the month.
I almost did it a couple of days ago and talked myself out of it. I have MANY mics. smile

Does on or both require Phantom power?

Aside from 'ribbon' mics (which are technically dynamic mics), NO dynamic mics require phantom power.

Just talked to my Sweetwater rep. Sale is thru 10/31. Currently backordered on both models as they flew out the door. More expected in Nov. Sale price is good on your backorder as long as you place it before the cutoff.

Thanks

Tony, You’ve heard the e935, that’s what I use. You may have even sat at one of my arrangers and used the 935, that’s the one I use when we have jammed. Going back quite a few years ago Mikey Maestro recommened it to me. At the time I was using the Samson Q7 once I used the 935 the Samson became a back up.

I didn't have a 935, but loved the 945. I have Samson Q8 as well, and it is very good.
The mics I use most now are Blue Encore 300 and EV ND96. The Encore is a phantom powered condenser mic and is not suitable for every setup, but it sure sounds good. The EV is excellent for about anything. The Samson is close, just depends on what you like to hear.
I use a Samson Q7 for a guest mic, so they don't cough on any of the ones I still use! smile
Occasionally I use an AKG C 520 headset mic. Yesterday I gave a Shure SM35 headset to a friend. His got stolen and he is down on his luck lately. If you like SM58, you'll like that one. It is very comfortable to wear.
I have two expendable mics that are an excellent handheld condensers, and very similar EV PL84 and EV RE510. Hard to say if one is better than the other. Since I got the Blue, I don't need at least one of them. Will make someone a great deal on the PL84. smile

I’m thinking the only difference between the 935 and 945 is cardiod vs. super cardioid.

I've had both. The 935 is awesome.I opted for the 945 narrower pickup pattern to lessen possibility of feedback. When I switch to accordion from keyboard during performance,I've got sennheiser condenser mics under the grille that are in close proximity to vocal Mic. Without that concern, the 935 is fine.

Has anyone received one of these mics that were on back order?
Sweetwater told me they would be available around Nov 12.

I had the AKG D330BT then i switched to the Sennheiser E835 and the Sennheiser seemed to have a bit more bottom end. Although i loved the D330BT better.

Now i sing through a Shure 565SD and that's the best microphone i've ever heard!

This is a song i recorded roughly 2 months ago, very sparse (and bad sounding) backingtrack.. And it's in Dutch. Gonna record something in English this weekend.
