I started with everything flat. Boosted extreme low and high from e.q., then turned up bass and treble on mixer. What do ya think?

I’m just listened on my iPhone and it sounds really good. If you ask 10 different musicians about the mix and EQ and such you’ll get 10 different answers. But anyways, great song and a wonderful rendition.

Don, the EQ can improve the sound of the PA1000, but it cannot compete with the sound of the flagship model Pa4x. You get what you paid for.

Now when I think of your back problem the story changes. Here is where the PA1000 becomes a much better choice. Don’t mix apples and pears; it is either reaching for the better the sound or the NEED to have a keyboard that weighs less.

Hope this helps, John C.

You both may be right, but I think it will get better. I've only had it a couple of weeks.

Enjoyed your vocal and arrangement, Don:

Sorry 'bout the back problem. Welcome to the club... and, regretfully,,. it's probably going to be part of the ageing process you and I are destined to endure. (The rest of these guys are young whipper-snappers.) LOL! Uh oh, forgot Gary!

I have no doubt that you could improve the sound of a 60 year old washboard and kazoo... 'cause with that vocal... the rest is just gravy.

It sounds great to me! Did you ever record this song/arrangement with the PA4X? An A-B comparison under the same conditions might be the only way to test the theory that the higher-end boards have more sophisticated samples, etc.
