I found this video showing the sounds of Roland U220 module..
I was a fan of the U20, and did a lot of sound edits on that unit..

Nearly 30 years later, it still sounds great..

A bit thin , but realistic sound.

The first time I saw a U-220, just a few weeks after Roland started shipping them, was at a local music shop that was owned and operated by a popular local rock band. Their keyboardist had a short 19 inch rack mounted in a portable crate. In the top space of the rack was an 8 track sequencer and under it were 8 U-220's - one for each of the sequencer's tracks. He was a real expert at sequencing, so his set up sounded absolutely awesome. The U-20 and U-220 were known for their fabulous string sounds compared to other sound modules of that time. Your post certainly brings back some fond memories of those times.

One of my lsetups before Arrangers was a U20 on top of a Ensoniq Piano with Roland Bass Pedals below. I think my drum machine at the time was a Roland CR80. Wish I still had the CR80, simple and good sounding machine.
U20 had a handful of great sounds I liked.
