Hello Everyone...I'm Thinking of a choice between... LD Maui 5...QSC K8.2 ...Bose S1 Pro Speakers. I will purchase a Pair for Stereo use. Coverage for up to 75 People Plus. Let Me know why You Like what You use. Light weight is a Must, I'm 70! These are all close in price also. Thank You So Much...Harold

I agree with Donny that the LD Maui 5 being a good choice. They weigh in at 25lbs each. (Stereo) If weight is a factor the Bose S1 at 16lbs each maybe a good choice.
I have not heard either speaker system in stereo so I can’t give an opinion. Thye are close to the same price range.

Good speaker hunting Harold, John C

I can't speak for the LD, but I can for the 8.2s. They are easy enough for me to lift to poles and are extremely powerful and detailed. I like the digital presets in the back. I put mine on poles, in stereo and set it on LIVE/NO SUB. It puts just the right amount of bass from the speakers. To me, they are like studio monitors, so clean.

I've been using two Maui 5s in stereo for a couple of years now, after maybe 10 years of Bose Compacts. The Mauis sound better, are easier to handle, have more connections, and are half the price. You can't go wrong.

Have you considered a 2.1 system? Nothing kills my enthusiasm to play out as much as all the cables/setup. I have come to the conclusion that for small to medium venues, a 2.1 PA system is the best way for stereo. In a 2.1 setup, the small sub houses a mixer and serves as a stand. For the second speaker, you don't have to run an AC cable like you do when you deal with two active speakers.

Last year, someone posted on the M350 by Harbinger. $350 shipped. Cheap enough to play in the rain. Surprisingly, it had good, smooth sounds. I saw the benefits of a 2.1 system, and I purchased the EXM400 by Yorkville. There is also the ES503 by DB Technolgies and the new Nano series by HK Audio. I had a Nano 300. I liked it but it didn't do a good for vocal. I'd imagine that the Stagepas series by Yamaha will do well, too. I read good reviews on them.

I might add that I have a Stage Centerpoint for stereo operation, and I can combine it with the sub of either the EXM400 or the M350 when I need more bass.

yes easily especially for only 75-100 people or less...sounds terriffic in stereo and has more mixing features then bose compact at half the cost and you dont need speaker stands.....get the Ld cases too good quality.

Without having two speakers that are on either side of you how do you get stereo? I seen amps that claim they are stereo, did not like them. I had an eight inch speaker on a stand and a 15" bin with a bypass. The sound was split -- high tones went up, low tones to the bin -- it was good, but not stereo.

I'm opened if I missed something, John C.

Current model base 37.6 lbs, column 17.6 I think. Combined weight not significant to me as I carry them separately, 2 columns in one bag. Interestingly, they were first version purchased when initially hit market, before bags and covers available, Had them custom made. The 5's should be all you need. I use the 11's for larger indoor venues, just my need. And yes bought from Frankie V.
