These two key boards are basically the same exept for the "SD" memory on the 2600. Now that Technics are out of the picture what is the future for the "sd" on the 2600?
Given that the 2600 costs more and you have to buy a card reader for it,what real advantage does it offer over the 2400 exept loading speed?

[ The most recent U.S. Kn-2600's come with a card reader as part of the package. The Kn-2600 has a slightly uprgraded sound system, a few more sounds etc. If you are into playing audio files, MP-3's etc, and mass storage the KN-2600 is the machine.
The KN-2400 has the disk of course, and that is a big advantage for those who are not into card readers etc....for example, most everyone can download standard midi files from the web and use the disk drive.(don't forget the 2600 lacks the disk drive)!

I can mail you a flyer for both keyboards if you like...for U.S. customers we have the KN-2400 at $995.00 + shipping.

Thanks Greg.A kn2400 costs about the same here in canada ie:$1600.oo. I have a lot of disks for my kn1400 and I dont want to lose them. Can you transfer unzipped midi files back to your hard drive and then across to a card reader?

Greg,
Prices should be left out of offers to sell in this forum. Please note also that we have a Wanted to buy and sell forum in the Synth Zone. Kindly place your ads there. I suggest you ask people to email you for their price. We don't need or want a bidding war in the Synthzone to run up the cost of the bandwidth.
thanks

You can transfer almost any file from your hard drive to the chip, but Technics keyboards will not read a zipped file, word files etc, however, you can first un-zip midi files and transfer them to the chip.
my apologies for the price.....I am new to the forum.

If someone is twisting between kn24 and kn26, I have to say that sd-card vs floppy is a big deal! You would probably regret later (=soon) if you get kn24.

Still, it`s all up to what you really need.

I have kn26 and I hate floppies!

Go get the KN2600 man....floppy drives when used extensively wears off very easily just like my old Technics EN3 Organ....and with Technics' demise....spare parts will be scarce i presume in a few years...
