I have the k&m performance stool leather saddle with no back
very sturdy very very heavy not too comfortable way overpriced and hard to carry folded up but at over $250 I'm stuck with it.

I still use my trusty Office Depot draftsman chair. You can adjust the height, it swivels so you can reach your drink, and it has rollers so it doubles as a dolly. smile Been using one for more than 20 years.

My Tama 1st Chair is much more comfortable than the above, and the seat pulls off making it easy to transport.

Personally I prefer the Quik LOck...heavy duty and bigger seat...

I just got the Quik Lok . Definarly heavy duty and well made. I keep it in the studio and the back rest is nice. Seems all Quik Lok stuff is very well made

I use a "pac-a-seat" originally made for steel players. Mine is ~20+ years old and going strong. I store frequently-used small items inside it. Mine was an "original" model, was just the right height for when I played pedals; even though I don't use pedals often anymore, I still like the seat.

I went with this mapex after years of using roc-n-soc when I sat on it at GC. Spring loaded backrest fits right against surgically repaired lumbar spine providing support.

Saddle seats never bothered me- I prefer them. They do make same one with round seat, but same height.

Give me a "tractor" style seat without a back support any time. With a backrest I'd be tempted to slouch and this does neither my back or my singing technique any good at all, and both need all the help available!

Received the NEW Model Quiklok DX-749 .. Super quality build, it's a little bit bigger then I thought But, Very comfortable even after a few hours sitting or half standing, and Very adjustable to any situation, back rest is adjustable & comfortable too.
The folding footrest is a plus comfort also when needed.
Good Buy!

I'm using the same type Mapex, it's 'rock solid' and great when sit or at more 'half standing' level.
Sometimes I wonder if it's buildt especially for my big butt. ..... laugh blush

Update:....After deep thought & consideration I have sadly decided to return the Quiklok DX-749 mostly due to Size & Weight & move in a different direction. Definitely a great studio seat for sure but for traveling, loading, practicality, etc, not so much. Too bad, I really liked it as a super quality built stay home or studio piece of gear.

Carry On

I've been using the Quik Lok BX 718 for over 10 years. Quick setup/break down, doesn't take up much room in the SUV, it's comfortable and height adjustable.

Donny, that folding one with backrest looks like something I’d definitely be interested in.
I sometimes sit and sometimes stand at different times through a night, so something with that kind of height would be ideal.
You are the “linkmaster” so..... where’s the link for it? 🤔

Jim, I looked at these when they first became available, not very comfortable, not cushioned, just hard plastic. Not good for musicians when a bony arse, like me. wink

I use the Quick Lock DX-749, which has a padded seat and backrest, and everything is adjustable. I weighs about 20 pounds, folds flat and your back and arse will thank you at the end of the night.

Why carry extra pillows when you can wear Musicians Friend Memory Foam Underwear. Comfortable on any seat for long gigs. Although they may make your ass look big. blush
