I stayed loyal and went for the K8.2 (2). They sound like my studio live, holy cow! Plenty of bass, brilliant definition. I have them on my dual pole mount and at 27 lbs - marshmallows!

I've been able to fool around with the QSC settings and prefer the 'live bright'.

So, thanks for ideas. Stereo all the way and a very light setup. The 4X sounds brilliant through it and I have a ton of work to balance and FX stuff still.

Well, against that speaker with 2000 Watts RMS, the Bose S1 has to strike its colours of course, LOL...

This is nothing more than a conventional sound system. There is no comparison to any of the line array systems available. Granted, it's 2000 watts, which translates into blowing the heads off the audience member nearest the speakers, and those more than 100 feet away will have trouble hearing them. Sure wish you live closer to me so I could show you how the line array systems work.

It’s a great choice if you’re very happy with it. You should record yourself and playback with the system the way you setup for a gig... in a gig location would be perfect. Set your levels the way you normally do. Then, walk the room to see what your settings sound like “out there” from the audiences perspective.

Everybody hears sound differently. You have to come to the easiest agreeable tone that the majority of your audience will like.

When I played the memorial service on Saturday with my Yamaha DXR10 speakers, I made sure I had time to play through some songs. The left speaker was 10ft behind me on the floor in monitor position. The right speaker was in line with the left but 20 ft to my left. In stereo for the congregation. I have my mixer running through an Ashly GEQ215 and a DBX DriveRack PX. The room was very alive and took low freq and enhanced it. I had to roll off the 160 hZ and below a bunch.

After the service, I got great compliments on how crisp and professional it sounded. One lady came up to say it was a perfect memorial service. Well, the only person I was aiming to please was the 92 year old woman who lost her husband. Originally, I was to be paid $200 for 2 Solos and 6 hymns... when I opened the thank you card after the service, she paid me $500. Now I can almost afford one of the QSC K8.2 speakers!!

Work with intention and you will not be disappointed in the end results. It’s always striving for the best you can do with how you were made!

Way to go - 6 songs & $500! Sounds as if you have things lined up for yourself. Never thought about doing memorial services, or anything outside the NH gigs.

I hear you about the line array and thought about getting one. I have 45 days, but they (8.2) sure sound great to me. Whenever I run mono, the very expensive Korg pianos sound dreadful. Tinny, flat, awful.....everything else sounds terrific, but no mono piano patch would ever satisfy me.

If I lived near you, heck with the music. I'd prefer your friendly company, potables, cooking and a boat ride

Jim, yes, those Korg pianos sound thin and tinny to me when I played a friend's Pa 600 last week. And, that was through the onboard speakers.

Good luck on whatever you decide upon, and if you ever get down this way during warm weather, you'll get that boat ride, free lunch and the bar is always kept full.

Much better today with the gear. The 4X sounded good, 90% vs 3X. I think that's as good as it'll get.

The QSC 8.2 are really nice. I used LIVE STUDIO today and they are TIGHT - nice bass lines. Probably not as much midrange (I miss) vs the K10s, but hey...sacrifices. They sure handle easier.

1st time there, "Sports Day". Had a Lions lineman, T.J. Lang, signing autographs. I went to his table, sat down with my stack of music pics and they sent me away But she liked me and booked me throughout the year - nice!

Did a 100 people gig tonight. Had the 4X and 8.2s and they delivered. The clarity of the 8.2 are just amazing. Such tight, defined bass lines.....sounded like someone picking a bass next to me. Overkill perhaps, but I still like going separate outs for the mic too. Very happy with the progress.

Zuki good news.... So pa4x is your main ax now? If you are happy that's all that matters! Bravo!
