No it does not...
It adds new sounds to yamaha instruments, and GM2 is allready in the Yamahas..
Sorry for the confusing i caused.
Altough there is a GM section of sounds this is not the main thing..

There are 720 sounds on board, for a total memmory size of 4GB. And 256 polyphony.
And there is a special file that allows you to input these sounds in the soundlist of your YEM and use them in your yamaha arrangers quite naturally.

It reminds me of the Ketron modules ( SD 2,4,1000) but hopefully they are superior in overall sample quality otherwise few will branch out that amount of money for a midi-module.

Incidentally, I had words from them stating that a similar module for the Korg PA arrangers will be availabe late summer.

I wonder if you can use this module with any controller key or synth... You‘d need the midi messages to address sounds and settings...

Those are all in the manual...

But the really exciting thing is, that you can select the sounds in the same way as yamaha expansion sounds, by their default name.. this is taking integration a step further...

Some time ago Dera music in Holland sold a comparable setup for the ketron sd2 and the tyros 3/4..

To me these things that help integrate instruments are important... it works so juch better than having to type the midi program changes eacht time by hand...
