Nice playing, and Genos sounds great.
Btw, welcome to the 'SZ gang' Niels.
Your name are familiar in Scaninawia and the tune could easily
been a Dansk-, Norsk- or Svensktopp as well as an 'oldie'.. wink smile

I agree with Fran and DonM - Pay absolutely no attention to DNJ! wink Great rendition, I listened twice and liked it even more the second time.

Thanks for posting,

I think your all going deaf didn't I read somewhere some peoples hearing is shot or couldn't identify higher frequencies?....sorry for my opinion especially on the drums being muddy. EQ is a wonderful thing if used correctly.
But what do I know.

Very Nice:

Loved the Genos Choral options you used and the melody will certainly get the attention of film-makers if you pitch it for licensing purposes. Welcome to SZ's General Arranger Forum.

If you think it needs 'Brightening up', wouldn't it be YOU that's not hearing the higher frequencies? Just sayin'.

Niels ... Welcome to Synth-Zone, where we ALL have an opinion and are not hesitant to express it - OR criticize other's opinions wink ...

Personally, I thought the recording sounded good, but can also see where Donny may have thought the drums where a little muddy - but that might have more to do with the 'drum set' used rather than EQ ...
Very nice work ...
thank you for posting it ...

I second Dave's comments. I thought it was excellent, especially with the choral backup.

Hi

Thanks for the nice comments. Just made a new recording of the song Still The One. Is the drums still a Little muddy?

Again, well played and good sounding.

Only thing that strikes me is that when the intro play, I'm ready to sing/play Van Morrison or Rod Stewart's version of 'Have I told you lately...'

GJ, I used the session style CountryBallad2, fitting "Have I told you lately" perfect. Sorry for the confusion. grin

Hi Niels.
Don't be sorry, and I'm not confused at all. laugh laugh laugh

It's probably just me that makes confusion by mention it.
Many would probably not notice it at all, at least if they don't know the song.
But generally speaked, there is too many that use intros that make you think about a totally different song at first, and also at the corresponding ending.
I.e. myself, I rather use a simple intro (1), or/and just play some chords 'doodling around' the songs theme as a start.
But, that's just me and my 2 cents, every player most do as they feel is right and sounds best.
And your playing sounds good!

YUP - I was going to say the same thing. Donny and Fran both have serious high end deafness.

Mine is 20% loss in my left ear..doesn't effect what I hear in music.. I never boost highs or cut the bass... unlike Donny..

I still can hear you play the wrong chords grin

Actually, there are several here, Donny. But audio engineering has absolutely nothing to do with your audiology problems. wink

Not I !!! smile

I hate bright and brittle sound... Now Bass I do push it a bit... because I want to hear/ feel the bass... I am aware that I do this.. grin

You should listen to some of your Korg tracks... you push the highs a bit because you are concerned about getting the vocals right..

And yes you are buying breakfast.. wink
