Here is a short demo I did after loading a Genos style, Country Rock 2, into my PSR S970. If anyone with a Genos wants to take the time, I would love to hear it played on that for comparison. I wasn't playing anything in particular, just using the OTS settings and jamming a little. https://app.box.com/s/qxswval5oy16lu5g5cr7cz8mcjkh8y6c

Yes, unless you use Audio styles, the drums are definitely in last place among current arrangers. Genos is supposed to be much better and that's why I'd like to hear a comparison using the same style.

Got it, .......but do I sense a hint of Genos envy?... you didn't order one on the sneak did you?....

No Genos in sight. Haven't even seen one in person. As I said, I don't even buy green bananas these days as I may not be around when they ripen. 14 gigs a week will not kill you, but it might make you wish you were dead!

Many of the common 'Country Rock' and 8Beat 'Country Styles' plays quite similiar bass and drums as this, but that intro used here is not at any Country named styles at Genos as far as I can find at the moment.
Also it seem to me that the bass does go more 'simple stright forward' at the style Don play than it generally does at the Genos styles.

In my experience styles from other models tend to sound not that well as those which come with the keyboard. I guess Yamaha tries to adjust each style to specific keyboard, because different voices (drums) and effects, even better ones, may change the whole picture not in a good way.
In general, I think that S970 has good drum kits, as well as a "okay" ones (I judge it by S950).

Maybe I'm wrong and it didn't come from Genos!? If not, I'm not sure where I got it, but it works well for several songs. Sorry, and thanks for trying.

Don. it's a pleasure if be for any help, unfornately this C-Rock did not match. There is some with quite similiar bass/drum styletypes, both C-Rock and C-8Beats to choose from, but not exact match to the one you used this time.

On another forum, Eileen posted a song using the Country Rock from Genos. It was a different style but very similar. In my opinion the only difference I could hear was the snare was better on Genos.

All aspects of ANY style can be edited to suit if you know how and want to dig into the KB tools. After all styles are just small smf files to begin with.

I hear ya! But much easier to grab the style I love - just a stick away
