Carol, every style ever converted from another keyboard to Technics format can be loaded into your PR, if they are done with the kn6000. I do it all the time for friends with the PR903. However, it doesn't work in reverse since your machine no longer is capable of the same functions as the kn6k. All you need is someone willing to share their style files with you. Happy hunting! Bud

Thanks for the information! I didn't realize that even the files created on a KN6000 would be compatible with mine. How lucky can I get? Now I will really be a busy bee downloading files! I am already up to my ears in GJ's site! I will be spending the kids inheritance on blank disks! )Money well spent! Thanks to all you good folks on this forum!

Nice to hear that you having a "ball" Carol,
but don't be too exited, there is much to
sort out, and many files you'll never going
to use, because not all converted files act
and sounds as good as on the brand they're
created for.
But that's for you to sort out
To try out KN6000 files, just download Alec's
disks from the KN6 page.

I have a PR902 and I am not able to load kn6000 or kn6500 files. If you are able to do this with your PR702, please let me know. I get an error message when I try to load the kn6000 files. Files created on the kn5000 load and play just fine.

I will try it and see what happens. Will try to download per GJ's suggestion in the post above yours and will let you know. Probably be tomorrow before I get to it. GJ, I am sure there are lots of files that won't sound as good as I think they should, but they at least will be a base for doing some tweaking to make the best of them. for the pr*02 series you must try kn5000 format files, since these are the same generation.

for pr*03 series try kn6000 format files.

not all types of files are compatible, but you should have luck with composers and many sound edits. Sequences and panel memories may work, but results may be more random due to sample base differences, and other format differences.

Technicsplayer is right -- the KN6000 files do not work in my 702. I get "Error 00-the data on the disk that you are using is for a different product". I guess Christmas is over and we can't have everything, but it sure would have been nice! However, it didn't dampen the spirits for downloading the KN5000 files!

Hi Bob, I have a few of these bought in the 2000/3000 era. They were flexible, perhaps easier to use, and minus sequencer, as explained in the instructions, could well fit in with similar type tunes. Also they hat no "length" to them,gave you both right and left hand settings, and by using the control track in the sequencer allowed you to duplicate the original sequencer playing. Walter.
