That and the XK77 were interesting "pro player" replacements for the B3 but times were ,changing and they never really took off IMO. Never played a 66 but moved ,one for a,guy who wanted a second one for parts. Got it in my van and to his house but no way were we,going. To try to get it down to his large studio basement. Left that to his son and his friends. Busted a shock on my van and luckily didn't injure myself moving it.
Great nostalgic piece on YouTube. Thanks

Hello Everyone

I now still have my third Hammond X66, ( I departed from the others long time ago) but, I did gig for over 20 years with that.....nostalgia made me get one.

I now have it only in my living room....for my own enjoyment.

Here couple links that I am playing with it, I made in my Tyros 5 the accompaniments.

That was very nice, Manuel. Took me back to my organ playing, selling, teaching days.

I think I played on of these in the "Viking" Hotel in Blackpool in the late 80's. Did Hammond do any other models with the "two chrome poles" bottom?

Fuzzy memory, but wasn't there an X66 model that was on two chrome poles?

Hammond XTP came out in late 60's, on a pedestal between two speaker cabinets.

I sold my X-66 about 8 years ago, but still have an X-77 in a shed behind the garage. Another project for another day

Aha! So there WAS an X77 after all. Thanks, Duane. The old grey cells still have some juice left, then. I was beginning to worry about that. laugh

I wonder if a Dual-Vibrato VSTi would excist...

I know there are many Vibrato-VSTi's witch emulate C1, C2, C3, V1, V2, V3,
but I have never found a VSTi that emulate the Dual-VibratoScanner found on the H100, HX100, X66

Best Regards,
Carlo

Very cool home organ. Never saw an XTP. Interesting that with al these older models Hammond made matching sound systems so they would sound their best.

Wonder why Yamaha, Korg, or Roland don't often show suggested systems to compliment their keyboards. Their ads usually just focus on the keyboard and we all know that's only as good as the sound system. More money for them too as I bet a lot of buyers wiould go with the recommended systems.

The X77 is a beautiful organ (That's why I keep it around). But, it is a real challenge to make it sound like a B3. The single speed roto-sound speaker in the Leslie doesn't help.

The vibrato on the X66 was incredible. It sent 3 separate signals to the left, center, and right speakers in the cabinet, creating a true rotating effect. Downside was the 12 single tonewheels which used a divider circuit to create the different footages. Didn't sound as full as a B.
