Gunnar is right to point out about the check list but again the instructions are not clear as to what to install is it table 1.4 or is it table 1.6
The 4 disks that I have and came via Panasonic UK are programme 1.6 and Table 1.6 but the instructions are not exactly clear cut.

all the installation instructions you need were in the 7k book before any upgrades were even available

I take your point Gunnar, but does the check system on the KN7000 examine every single byte of the new software? Checksums can be wrong - I have experienced this in the past.
If you download an upgrade for a PC, and install it and then find it is faulty, at least you can revert your PC back to it's original state, either by re-installing the original software, or in XP, by using System Restore. I have known occasions when people have downloaded BIOS upgrades via the internet, installed them and ended up with a 'Dead' PC and that ain't funny
If you install defective software in your KN7000 there is no system restore and you don't have the original software.
I would imagine that the discs supplied by Technics undergo a Byte for Byte comparison check with the original, to ensure their integrity.

If they were zipped up then there is no chance of the file being corrupted without that being detected when unzipped because the CRC checksum of the file is checked. Zipping OS files assures that they have not been corrupted.

I know exactly how that feels, been there myself, but
at the same time it's a way of the learningcurve....
There are always a risk that something can go wrong,
also by use of diskettes sendt by snailmail.

Maybe that's the reason that many say: "If it ain't
broke, don't fix it"
If it's not possible to reinstall the OS to the KN7 if
something goes wrong, then it's probably not worth to
bother at all?
Myself I will never learn, have to try all there is
to see what's new or changed after the install

This morning, Tuesday, I received a reply from Eddie Williams as follows:

I do not think posting 1.6 is a good idea. That is something that would have to be approved by Matsushita Electronic Company.

With the 1.6 upgrade, what table should I be looking for on the keyboard, and how do I check it?
