This Gypsy Jazz thing has been playing in my mind these last few days. On a whim, I took out the PA3x (haven't played it in a year now), turned it on and did one "take" on each song.

I'm not embarrassed about the mistakes, the "roughness around the edges, the lack of instrument control, the sloppy jazz organ, etc because it was done in ONE take. I figured I did pretty well considering I couldn't even remember how to operate the darn machine.

I'm posting this because I think I'm going to work on some GJ and clean up my act and see how far I can go with it. I'll post my progress in another month.

P.S. I'm starting to like this PA3x. I think I'd better go to the doctor tomorrow and see what's wrong.

Mark

I wouldn't be embarrassed either, considering one take and a long time away from the instrument. The main thing is your innate ability to handle the fast runs and great fingering. The few rough edges will be gone in no time. Keep it up.
