Ketron takes so long to market its products, that when it comes time to release, they lose the charm.

"A ketron demora tanto para colocar no mercado seus produtos, que quando chega a hora do lançamento, eles perdem o encanto."

Many new demos out - I'm collecting all of them. Guitars not all that much different from the Audya apart from the new country and Jazz additions - just played well with the appropriate bass this time...

Will I get one? You bet!!! As soon as I have the funds ready one will be shipped to South Africa - you can bet on that!

Hi Bachus,

You'll be loosing out big time like you did when you dragged your feet on that Audya deal wink

Go for it, you'll not regret it, not even in the least! This instrument will blow your mind, it's just THAT good!

I'm listening to the guitar demo over & over & I simply CANNOT keep my feet, or my whole body for that matter, from moving in excitement. Boy, I LOVE that slap bass!! The whole concept just motivates one to go & play something.

I wish Ketron the very best. I hope they continue to make great instruments and live long and prosper, BUT how many times have they introduced a new instrument then had multiple failures, delayed updates, broken promises, etc., before finally, generally after a year or so, getting it in some sort of condition that is reliable enough for use on an actual job.
Sorry, I've learned my lesson, after multiple tries!
I wasted more than six months trying to get the last one in workable order and never did. I took about a $600. hit and was glad to get out of it that cheaply. No more unless I see some radical changes in the way they operate. Well, probably not even then because I love what I have now.
I do encourage everyone to buy one of these, do the field testing that should have been done by Ketron, and help them get it operational! smile I need something that will work every time I turn it on, and continue to work until I turn it off, and do pretty much what the specs say it should.
AJ is a great asset, but there isn't enough of him.
I truly hope I'm wrong about them this time!

Great ideas...terrible follow-thru...questionable support...
unreliable staff...non-existent business ethics.

A damn shame. It's my favorite brand. I wouldn't touch another one.

More SD9 Pro demos will be released shortly. There is just so much to cover in so little time.

Each of these arranger manufacturer companies have produced products with strengths and weaknesses. It wasn't too long ago when one renown manufacturer had to have LED boards switched out entirely from a whole batch of units in production, or still has glitches in the functioning of intros and fills or .... (more discussed on other forums related to such).

As instruments rely more and more on computers and software and are designed to satisfy more and more customers, I do believe all of them need to invest more in testing and product support, especially in the USA where the potential of Arranger keyboards still pales in comparison to equivalent workstations because folks just don't know of the full potential of Arrangers.

In the meantime, purchase and play instruments that fill your current needs and help you bring satisfaction to your audience. The happier you are with your instrument, the better your audience will appreciate your performance (not your instrument as has been noted here already), although musicians within your audience will notice your instrument.

Thanks

I can't hear any difference in this and SD7. The location of the wheels would be a deal-breaker for me, same as Audya. I prefer the joystick.
Here is a live bit I did on SD7:

I would like to know if the problems are dependent on the build, or vers., or is it quality control on a particular run. When I bought my Audya, I read about problems mostly with the Audya 4 module, but my Audya 76 has been great all this time.

That is one fine example of using an arranger keyboard. Did you do any multi tracking/over dubbing on the arrangement? You have some left hand organ comping going on while playing lead with the sax.... Excellent!

I think the arrangement sounds so live and realistic. The left hand style arrangement isn't overly orchestrated like I hear on many other brands of arrangers. Just like a live band would sound like. It's hard to believe that one person is doing all the music. I really enjoyed the performance.

Thank you Salsaman, no multi-tracking or over dubbing, just sit and play. The organ was part of the style. The Ketron is probably the most live-sounding of all arrangers.
Edit:
Actually, I listened to that song again, and in part of it I was using the Riff feature. The fourth variation on the style has built-in comping, along with a chord progression. That's probably the organ you were referring to.

And the Thomann, Musicstore etc is about 4000 euros....
And not forget... The question (about the price) in Marcello of Ketron, became from (Musicstore) group, and the Musicstore have the price about 4000....
Why did they ask the question from Musicstore??...
We waiting the final price...

Yes, but that price is based on what he learned at last years musik messe .. probably from the same person thats in this video...

I talked to him a few times... seems Ketron may realise that at 4k they may not sell very much instruments..

Anyway... so far it all seems one big pool of assumptions.. we will know pricing when these instruments finally are in store..

You are right Bachus....
I think that its very difficult to sell very much instruments, with a price like 4000...Νot a competitive product..
Maybe the SD9Pro, brings also a new strategy for Ketron...
I hope...
