Many years ago when I was working for a local dealer Lowery was one of the top brands we sold along with Emminent/Solina. All these instruments were heavy and hard work to move around. Most of the local venues Had a resident old Hammond B or C3/Lowery Holiday or like. Later I was teaching for a Yamaha dealer and saw the introduction of the HX modular range, arranger keyboards had yet to get off the drawing board as such,It was 1988/89 when Technics launched the KN range, this introduced Great sounds, arranger styles but more important was composer (not just drums) sequencer 8 track and the ability to use sampled sound and modify the structure like a pro synthesiser. But the great thing was it was Pro standard and you did not need a forklift to move it around.

It also looks that with the goodbyes of Technics and GEM most innovations in the arranger market stopped... because in my opinion it was these two companies that atleast tried to innovate and be different from the rest...

And thats what really makes it a sad thing... i can tell you that i never ever bought any Panasonic products after the day they pulled the plug on technics.

So if I can't afford(or even play)a Lowrey, how many $50 - $75 gigs do I need to play to buy this?

Songwriting with the Yamaha Tyros5 Arranger Workstation
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUW7ZSIJ4EE

The tyros 5 is perfect for professional song writing as well and found in many professional studios.

My Tyros 4 was bought by a studio in Toronto for Ethnic sound sample performances and pro recordings. The Studio technician specifically sought out a Tyros for it's quality, vast sample selection and reliability in this regard.
