I use vocal processing. The TC Helicon in the Korg automatically will set e.q., compression, de-essing, etc., or you can do it manually. It instantly sample the singer's voice and optimizes all the processing. Works great for me! Also, reverb and/or delay is part of processing, all totally editable. I do also use vocal harmonizer, but try to use it tastefully. I generally use one harmony voice, a third above my voice. There are some songs when using it on a line or two, or on the chorus helps a lot. Sometimes if I have a guest vocalist, or on the rare occasion when I work with someone else, I can use it do to group background oohs and ahhs, or whatever. It's another tool in the arsenal, but a great one.

All my vocals go through the on-board Pa900 vocal processor and I use the VH quite a bit, - although not during entire songs - and the number of voices depends on the song ... it serves me quite well especially when doing 50's gigs with my guitar player friend ... it adds the necessary harmony when I sing songs of Buddy Holly and others, and like Don, I use it a lot as the 'back up singers' when the guitar player is singing lead ... I don't think many of my audiences -NH/AL venues- think that much about additional voices, ... what they are looking for is nice music... I also don't think people think about it much when I'm working with another musician, such as the guitar player, because there is more than one person singing ... however, after a recent solo Christmas gig, a guy came up to me and asked if I had a 'program' to provide the harmony, so I demonstrated how it actually followed my voice in 'real time' depending on the chord I played ... but then he also told me that he was somewhat familiar with vocal harmonizers ...
