It occurred to me, that if some company was to turn the arranger world around, it would be a company that could produce an 88 key arranger.

But that arranger would have to be light enough to be used for live gigs and still be able to simulate a hammered action piano.

Thoughts?

Korg used to make the Pa588, 88 keys with a piano like action. A friend of mine bought one thru Frank at Audioworks, not sure whether the Pa588 is still being made?

Personally, I don't believe it would fly, but of course that's just my opinion. I base this upon having played for decades, working every day of the week, and enjoying the light action of the PSR series and other brands. When I tried to fill in for a friend using his Clavinova at the end of the night my hands were so cramped from playing that hammered action board that I had to soak them in hot water for a couple hours while sipping margarattas and taking pain pills. I only filled in for him a few times, and the last time I did, I took my PSR-3000 to the job and hid it behind the Clav - No one knew but me.

Now, I am confident there will be posts to the contrary of mine, folks that really love playing the piano, though, instead of an arranger keyboard.

Kind of a catch 22. 88 keys and hammer action add a lot to the weight. Simpler solution is,to get a controller keyboard with a BK7m module.

A good idea, or a light 88 key hammer action controller with vArranger2.

Unfortunately an 88 key keyboard would only fit into certain vehicles. That is why I play a 61 key so it can fit in my car.

With wheels on the top instead of the side, a stagepiano like the nord stage is barely larger then a tyros5

Casio px5s is less then 12 kg, casio has the lightest quallity keybed, of all..

Korg makes the havian 30 right now... thats a stage piano version of the pa300

Whats missing is a high end 88 key arranger.... now if korg crossbreeded the new korg grandstage with a pa4x ( mid price stagepiano with 7 sound engines and 64GB sample ram). It would blow anything on the market today into small piecess...

Or even better, add all pa4x functionality into the next kronos, .. 16 part performances, with 8 arranger tracks, midi players, and 8 multipads in a single 88 keyboard... they would have my money...
