My sister despite all my advise decided to buy this Medelli for her kids, because it looks so good in het livingroom, and costs less then €1000..

I will report back to you how it sounds after the weekend.... but i think to her, sound is the least important part of an instrument...

It seems that your sister got an incredible deal for a good-looking and yet great-sounding instrument. BTW, a US dealer sells this for over $3,000.

Medeli website shows many digital piano and keyboard models. Very interesting. I'm just about to buy a Roland FR4x. It's about $4,000 USD. I would think that Medeli could make one for less then $1,000. I won't worry about the quality of the sounds as I will use expanders like the Ketron SD40 along with VST plug-ins.

No... they are the new Casio (lowest pricerange fighter) overhere in europe.. but are actually an Italian company... many big resellers like Thomann and Musicstore sell these products under their own brand names, like FAME...

A very greedy US dealer, to say the least.

Many home piano stores sell at a "what the market will bear" price. Some times, you can't even see a list price to compare. Technics was like that for so long. They were out of reach for the guys playing in the trenches. If you didn't have a friend in the biz, you paid through the nose for those early KN series. It's a specialty market.

So we learned a lot today about Medelli..

The instrument looks quite nice, like a cheap cvp... but still classy... but thats about it...

The piano feels dissapoint, the weighted keybed of my nefews current G70, is better suited then this cheep breed...
Also the sounds including piano sound of the G70 outperforms the Medelli
Styles sound much like the low end Casio keys...
And worst reliabillity, the instrument crashed a few times and had to be restarted... several times
The 3rd time it would not start for several tries...

So whats left? A piece of furniture, that fits well in my sisters living room? And 2 very dissapointed neffews, even they recognised this instrument being considerably worse then the G70... the instrument is being returned...
