Hi Bachus
It's style creation / editing functions, They've made certain things quicker to do than in prior korgs.
It along with my 15 to 20 year old XG works PC sequencer, I'm in style heaven .haha

Hi
depending on what keyboard you own, ever thought about having the chord progression in a variation itself, ( to free up your hands for harmonic) ie settings like the intro's.
Would probably make it song specific, but so what.
Tried it a few years back on my pa800 with a midifile. Cut it into verses and chorus etc
Vari 1 verse, vari 2 chorus . No chord changes. I put just about the whole song into this style.
But don't see why one of the variations couldn't be recorded with chord changes and put into the style, rest of style left as per normal.

Naturally a chord sequencer would be easier, but.

Hi AJ,
I think the riff function came after my sd1+ ?So not quite sure what it does.
Are you referring to the suggestion I made about putting a chord progression in a variation?
Or is it more like a chord sequencer?

As a songwriting partner & production tool this board is simply amazing.

Being able to build a song from the backing tracks. Keeping what I need. Then being able to overdub the pads, and THEN being able add to, overdub, or replace any track.....

I can get a great demo of any tune I write fairly quickly & easily. And it doesn't sound like it was done on an Arranger

I think you should just take it out on stage first and try it without anything just the compacts on the sides ...then experiment with in-ear, etc..

the CC works great on 4x..Paul time for a KORG Pa4x !! keys

Definately a miss on my Tyros 5, its a feature i use reularly, i used to set up my Ipad, where i used an external sequencer to record some chords.. and then replay them as input for the T5..

These days i use the sequencer of the Kronos... but this forces me to play in sequencer mode instead of combi mode...

This feature is definately a must, not only for pro players, but also for most home players... because its also very handy when excersising some new songs (piano)

Isn't recording your chosen style chord progression into a midi song file on the your Tyros 5 and then using Song Position Markers on playback essentially the same thing as the Korg chord sequencer?

You would end up with the options of four convenient chord sequence loops (SP1, SP2, SP3, SP4) that you chose on the fly, freeing up your two hands to practice whatever you want.

Can easily be synced with any Tyros 5 style with sync start, including multipads on top of the chord sequences (SP1-SP2). Once synced, the chord sequence with follow the tempo changes of the style play.

Very dynamic control over your chord sequences, plus you can activate one the 4 loops on-the-fly, essentially generating access to four separate chord sequences.

Style Bass Conversion and manual bass control on the Tyros 5 can be setup within your style play and split point options while you create your chord sequence midi song file before you setup and enter song position markers.

Sure thing, but the strength of the pa4x chord sequencer is real time looping...

However, the fact that the tyros 5 can play styles and sequences at the same time is perfect for preprogrammed chord sequences.. If you combine this with song specific registration memmory banks, you sure have a strong thing going...
