1. The 2600 only sees panel memory banks A, B & C. It does not have banks 1 to 10.
2. The 2600 does not load custom style files. Additional styles must be saved and loaded as Composer memories (maximum 3 at a time).
3. The 2600 does not have a user configurable home page so does not load home page files.
4. Folder names were not displayed (file names were) but all files and folders were accessible. Folder names can be reconstituted using the folder rename SD tool.

I then saved the standard 2600 settings to my blank SD card. The files then had to be edited to contain the 7000 instrument ID (J K in lieu of LKG).
As the 7000 is an older instrument it has not been programmed to recognise the 2600 ID (similarly it doesn't recognise the PR804 ID).
The 2600 files then loaded successfully into the 7000 even though the message that they were for another product was still displayed.
Thanks to Len Churchward via Bill Johnson in Australia for this good info
My new KN2600 is scheduled for delivery tomorrow

Is it possible to do this same task with other instruments ? I would like to transfer some of the rhythms from my K7 to my Technics G100 organ. If it can be done, just how do I go about it ? Thanks, Dick Bergin

Hi Bebop:

You mentioned: "The 2600 files then loaded successfully into the 7000 even though the message that they were for another product was still displayed."

If you loaded using ALL and still got this message, there is a good chance that one or more of the file types didn't load at all. That is, the Composer and the Sound files may have loaded correctly, but the Panel Memory and or current memory files may have not thus getting the message. I come to find out, if that particular error message comes up, it really means a file or all files didn't load. Well at least on the PR's...
