I’ve got the Tyros 5, but will not automatically jump to a new model without seeing, hearing, or reading something about it first----and deciding if it’s worth it. That’s a big investment for someone in retirement. Yes, I’d be interested to see what Yamaha comes up with. They can call it (the name) anything they want. For me, it’s all about realistic styles and voices. I don’t need in-depth editing and all the bells and whistles. Beyond that, it needs to look good and not be too heavy. I’m proud to be one of those who “sits and plays” with factory presets; but, still, enjoys going first class.

I'm most definitely going to upgrade. T4 > T5 was just not enough improvement for me to upgrade, but I can't imagine that the upgrade from T4 > the successor of T5 will disappoint me.

Same here.
T5 was not enough to upgrade, Still got my T4 and S970.
But I am looking forward to the next model and most likely will upgrade to it.

I am interested in the Genos for sure...

But as stated before, i think we will see both the Genos(which will move more to Workstation territorium) as well as a PSR Pro which will be the new top model professional arranger (with a tilted screen for Donny)

Probably is going to happen late 2017

They are not presenting a new arranger on an american Market... Arrangers is not a big thing in the US...

so far the Tyros allways has had its own event...

The Us market is to small fore arranger keyboards , it is because the Us musician dont see the profesional use for it , in europe a lot of pro musicians use the Tyros on stage in combination with a other workstation or Hammond clone .
Ik cant wait to order the Genos if its available , i hope its a variation of a Montage and a Tyros 5 .

Impuls keys

Yes.. a tyros5 upgraded with the 8 part performances of the Montage..and some more stuff...

but then, how about a Kronos with pa4x style engine added to it?

they would probably not sell in the US, but be a mega hit in the rest of the world

they would be shooting themselves in the foot financially combining the two, workstation and arranger it's all about making money always first, everyone has different likes, wants, and needs,..
what you want the next guy doesn't need wink arranger music in today's PRO music Scene is a fading thing with so many other ways to create music...playing in your living room is another story completely.

A Tyros or a Genos... A name is just a name... Specs and functionality win the consumer! If it had all the music creation tools I need, I would try and buy, if it knocks my socks off!!

Since the flagship Yamaha is a "Performance" Synthesizer, a production workstation is missing. Redefine the upper end keyboard with amazing music making tools!

Sequencer with song and pattern options
All of Yamaha's greatest sounds
At least 128 notes of stereo polyphony
Insert effects on all tracks
Set list mode for performance organization
Sample/Multi-pads
No speakers
Smaller footprint so it is easier to transport

I am having sellers remorse because I sold my Motif XF6 before all the specs were out on the Montage. It was called the replacement of the Motif but in reality, it took everything that was Motif to me away!!

Genos... Please be the keyboard built with the musician's needs in mind!!

I don't think any company is going to give you everything in one package, keep in mind that GEM is back and they will also bring out something fabulous, now, when that is, nobody knows.

GEM the creators of the only true TOTL all in one... SK 880 ( before they started their road to doom with the toybox genesis). Which in that time was everything in a single package... With time another company will see the light and recognise that all in one will sell...

They are not back however, and they are concentrating on vintage analogue gear from Elka... As far as i understood..

The loss of Technics was truly a sad day in Arranger keyboard history.....
with so many fans worldwide a comeback would be true Awesomeness at this point.

Yes, but i think the technollogy and innovation didnt come with the companies name... But with the developers that worked there..

This one is sadly lost forever... But they and GEM where the innovative companies pushing arrangers forward...

let's honestly just look at the big picture, ......
TODAY'S Music scene doesn't Equate with an Arranger KB (yes I said it I know its shocking to some eek2 )
but this in itself is the driving force in it's ever fading popularity.
And it will continue to do so in years to come,
...everything has it's time.

Arrnagers are worldwide still the best sold keyboard instruments (in numbers)

You should for once try and not compare the USvarranger market with the global market. Those are 2 very different things.

When Technics organs & keyboards closed down, most of the developers went to either Korg or Yamaha, (As did many of the demonstrators) so the influence of Technics is still out there.

Although GEM is in the ELKA currently they are in the works for an arranger, rumor has it and we will see,and I have the GEM WK8 which is the same as the sk880 my opinion is that the GENESYS was still the best of them all, there were alot of features that were finalized on the Genesys, just to name a few on the WK series the midi outs were closed and the drums were not as good as I would have liked.

If that's the case please show me any of todays
International Touring acts that have an Arranger kb anywhere on the stage,.....
maybe Worldwide in Living rooms I'd say but thats about it. I'm not knocking Arrangers they have treated me very good thru the years but times are changing and you gotta go with the flow.

If arrangers are a dying breed in the U.S., I’d better hang on to the two I’ve got. Increasingly, I’m using them, along with Band In A Box, to create wav file backing tracks for solo work. In that case, I guess it doesn’t matter which keyboard you use on the gig. And, guitar, too, at times. But, I hope we do see new Yamaha arranger models sometime.

Thats only the top od the bill... big touring acts dont make numbers sell

Its people at home and playing on local markets and weddings that dont have a band at their hands that use arrangers.. because they require the versatillity..

Top acts have different needs, because they have a base player, drummer and guitarists at their crew..
