Been using my Gator case but wondering if I should go hard shell? Would add a good 20lbs though.

I have the 76 key and went with the Gator with wheels...Doesn't add a ton of weight and protects with velcro wraps inside

I would really recommend getting a custom hard case made with light weight luan plywood over soft cases. Been there done that. The soft cases such as Gator weighs 25-26 lbs. The case I had custom built from nycase weighs 20 lbs with wheels.

Here's one for the PA3X. You'd just have to contact them and specify your dimensions.

Here's a post after I had mine made after spending months trying something to fit my Tyros 4. It gives all the reasons this is a good idea IMHO.

No more soft cases for me. No more broken zippers, frayed fabric, etc, etc and less weight for a more secure case.

If you're talking about Hybrid cases for the PA3x, I've been buying them for 30 years now. I've been happy with every single one of them. So.......they were the first I called for my PA3x case. I don't remember the details, but I DO remember that after discussing the case with the salesman, I decided against it this time. Don't remember if it was too much weight, not enough protection if I had to sacrifice weight, cost?.....really don't remember.

After researching them all, I bought a soft case from SKB for under $100. Been using these for 30 years also when I wanted a soft case for a keyboard.

I have 1/2 dozen Hybrid cases.....they were perfect WHEN they were perfect. I think they made design changes. But I would still call them first before shopping around.
