Hi Donny,
Yes, I'm sticking with the SD7. For my gig needs it is a much better fit. The PA4X is a good arranger but just not what I need for gigs. I play 100% for the senior population - many of which or 80 to 90 years old. They detest songs or styles that or to much "in your face" type of music. The PA4X has to few styles that truly fit the music I have to play for my audiences. The controls for live playing on the PA4X are really neat and the touch screen works great. The setlist and songbook features would have been very easy to use. The Midi to style conversion works good and in general it is a very good keyboard. I could have used the PA60 or PA80 styles which all played great but I just don't have the time now to get it all set up for my needs.

Anyway, I don't want my short time of keeping it to sound negative to anyone

Hi Deane,
Sorry to read the pa4x didn't work out for you.
I luv the korgs, but I used to have a bit of a problem trying to find styles to the types of songs I like to play. I'm a big fan of the old musicals and standards out of the 40's 50's.
The yamaha styles appeared to suit better, so I converted a few.
In the end though, I decided to play around with the movie/musical category styles on the Korg, what I discovered was, by dramatically slowing down a couple of the styles like Broadway , Hollywood, which were far too boppy at their full tempo, they worked really well
with some of the songs I'd written off as being able to be played with a korg style. Muting tracks sometimes helped me to. That tap dance swing, quite useful without the tapping.
Burts Bounce was another handy one for me.

I must have been gone for longer than I thought, hadn't even heard of an SD7, I'm slipping.
Haha Lovely keyboards , Ketron's .

Good luck with your sale, pity you're not in Aust. Haha

Deane,

The majority of my business is seniors....so I think I understand your concern.

That said, I played a 60's Rock n Roll dance with my band mates today. We first formed in 1966. We had a blast. I had forgotten how much fun a rock and roll crowd could be.

If a PA 4X Would get me Rock n Roll gigs..id probably buy it.

smile
