The streetprice of the SD7 here in Holland and Germany is approx.
2695 euros, ( if you are lucky you might get it at 2600). It does not need a genius to figure out that the SD40 will end up with a streetprice of approx. 2000 euros. Why ? Simply said, the SD40 is the SD7 in a box. It they were to retail it at say 1400 euros the sales of the SD7 would crumble and fall. By contrast they would sell many many modules, but mark my words " it ain't gonna happen "

Maybe, maybe not, I'm not as sure as you about it.
The ratio 2000:2690 is not the ratio of the prices quoted on the Swiss dealer's page - but that's just an unreliable indicator.
But if you look at the Roland Integra, it has always been just under 1,500 euros, and according to your theory that would have made the Jupiter 80 completely obsolete, as, apart from the lower polyphony, it has all the Jupiter sounds and several thousands more.
Probably there are not that many people that easily switch to a module, with respect to the "all-in-one" aspect, handy operation etc. Many here in the forum don't want additional gear with cables etc. The SD40 won't have any sliders, for example, a feature missing compared to the MidjPro.
I think it's still possible the price could be considerably lower than 2,000 euros. I fear for 2,000 I'd rather keep my 1,295 euro BK-9 as a second keyboard.
BTW, Ketron should think about their price for the SD7: After 10 months of being on offer, there are zero reviews at Thomann. The SD7 is obviously doing even worse than the BK-9, which was definitely a busted flush for Roland.
