Gary Vredenburg, our good friend and a member of the Florida Keyboard Conference lost all of his belongings, including his 7000, in a house fire in August. Most of the key board was melted but the amazing thing, the SD card still works.

I sure would miss my 7000, therefore I am looking for a backup, just in case.

Surely you don't need fires in Florida, Fran?

Hi Fred,

Since posting my wanting a 7000 in case mine fails I have changed my mind. The asking price in the states is around $3500. This is more than I paid for mine brand new. The ones you posted at $2200. is more realistic, but I would not want to purchase a high priced item outside the U.S.. Dealing with vendors in the states can be troublesome, let alone overseas.

I love my 7000, but if the asking price gets much higher I may part with it.
