This old man can use a few suggestions for a Valentine's dance. I can handle all of the schmaltzy stuff usual for the occasion. The problem is what do the 30-50 year olds dance to?
I probably w'on't even recognize the titles, but I would like a few, even if I have to play some MP3's(ugh).

For the 40-50 generation, better prepare for some 80s, e.g. Duran Duran and Aha titles (BTW, they each did very nice James Bond songs), and probably early 90s Eurodance (Ace of Base, Dr. Alban, Haddaway ...), also maybe Madonna and No Doubt (e.g. their cover version of 'It's my life'). Just a few examples...

I think it highly depends on where you play...
I think you can mix in some EDM for these people overhere in europe... Think music like tiesto, van Buren, but also some rave and such for those in their 30's.
To bad our arrangers are less suited for that kind of music, thats where Montage and Kronos come into play..

With modern dance music, you can arrange a dance version of almost any song... If you want them to dance, its not what you play, but how younplay it..
The above one is the dance version... This will get everyone under 40 on the floor
This is the orriginal....
With the right EDM styles( you can get them for yamaha user created for free on psr tutorial) you get them dancing for sure, an arranger is the perfect instrument to turn your wellknown songs into awesome dance music...
Keep in mind that it does require you to feel end enjoy the soul of the dance music to make a convincing experience

There's The advantage of The BK-9: You Can assign audio EDM rhythms to The upper keys, ans they sync to the style tempo.

Here's a nice demo (unfortunately in German) by the Hessian store Session Music and Carsten Helfrich (Roland Germany) where EDM rhythms are added to a style. See 6:05 for the normal style and around 7:00 where the EDM track is added.

Lovely technollogy On tyros you can use audio multipads for that (and i think the new Casio MZ-X will excell at this, got a lot of funtions for audio and phrases)
Here is a good example of Dance music on Tyros, with one of the styles freely available by its creator on the PSR tutorial forums. Even at my age of almost 50, i like this trance music when i am out with my wife and our friends.. just need to dance ...
