Have you ever seen how fedex handles it cargo outside the eyes of customers? They tend to throw with them boxes as if they are garbage...

Buying from a local dealer sounds great. Only thing is there are none that carry arrangers withing 150 miles, and even then, they probably don't have any in stock, maybe a couple of Casios and a low-end Yamaha.
I know in Europe lots more local dealers stock them.

I wonder if every instrument is checked?

When I was in QA, we didn't check every product. But most of our products were less than $4k each.

Still, it doesn't help the cause of the PA 4X

Good luck buying locally here in Ontario, Canada. They don't stock high end keyboards even in the best stores. You have to have them order with the same potential risks as having it shipped to your door.

God Bless,

All around, two dozens of options for me in a 50 miles radius...

The original issue was resolved, at last. Here's what he posted on Korg PA4X forum:

Finally, story with happy end Very Happy

I've received brand new Pa4X 76 this morning after loooong waiting time.
New one works perfectly fine.
This time it came with 1.1.0 firmware, update to also 1.1.1 went smoothly.
Happy man Cool

That's the advantage of our extremely high population density in the Netherlands and Northrhine-Westphalia. Our state has 18 million inhabitants in an area of 120 by 120 miles. The downside is traffic jams and scarce "open range"...
