Actually I think the S970 is a great little board! Price, weight, most sounds, much improved VH; all good. But, the kicker for me is lack of pedal control. I can't make it work with 2 functions. I could get by with four, but not two!

I knew abt the pedals going in but thought I could work around it. I know there are control knobs and programmable sliders but hard to reach when playing accordion.

Functions I need: Break, VH on/off, Reg UP, Reg DOWN.

You could do the vocal harmony on/off with a simple registration, one button for on, one for off. Very easy, but I would do that with one of the foot pedals. There is already a pair or buttons for registration +/-. So that leaves the second pedal for break. Easy stuff, even for an accordion player. Now, if you use an external harmonizer, then, your problem is solved. I have a couple of Digitech VRs for sale at a very, very good price if you're interested.

why need a keyboard if your playing accordion?...
why not an arranger module like the ketron Sd4,or Midjay, etc,?
funny how we all play differently personally I use NO pedals at all...haven't used a pedal since my B3 in the early 70's lol....too much junk to set up I'm an quick in & out player,...I have no need for pedals my fingers are faster but that's me,..... cool2
do it the way it makes you happy I say !

Hi Gary,

I guess "easy" is determined by the button pusher! I doesn't work for me; no light, small buttons, poor vision, old shaky hands!

Thanks for the offer on external vocalizers. Been there, done that!

In short Donny,

I've owned several different modules, BK-7m, Audya 4 (twice). General Music. I still have to have pedals. Plus if I want to practice without the accordion I then need a controller keyboard. There are no shortcuts.

But the main reason for no module is the brands I prefer do not make arranger modules i.e. Yamaha and Korg. Keep wishing!

Have you ever thought of using something like the Roland PK-4/5 midi footpedals? You can set them to transmit midi info.
