Hi, just want to ask your opinion regarding the audya 4. At present I have the x4 module which I had from new and have had for the last 12 years. I really like the x4 but I'm considering buying the audya 4. I run the x4 with midi guitar. So what are your thoughts for me to upgrade ? In what way is the audya 4 going to be better for me than what I've got?

I moved this to the Ketron forum because I think you will get some assistance here.

Moved from the X4 myself. What you will get is fantastic drums and bass rhythms, ability to play mp3 files if you need a disco/background music.Ability to customize every thing from midi files, to drums, to instruments on you styles. There is however a slight delay when using a guitar with the module, as other owners i have spoke to say the same, but this is only noticeable to you.

I too have the X4 and recently upgraded to the Audya 4( after having the keyboard) I find the X4 is an excellent unit, but the Audya 4 is much more..more styles, sounds etc..the only problem I have is that the Audya doesn't have as good of a chord recognition as the X4. So when using the arranger section, sometimes the chord I play isn't read and then the styles doesn't follow my playing...I don't think it's my playing, because I have other units, GEM Genesys, Roland Bk7m, and they follow me well...so that's my 2 cents..I don't think you'd be disappointed in the Audya, the live guitars and drums are awesome...but better than the Roland. But the X4 has some very usable styles and sounds..

Never did, other than playing slower..if I strum too fast it just misses the new chord, until I can give a slower strum.open chords are the worst..much better with bar chords....my Bk7m and Gem Genesys don't have that problem..but the sounds of the Audya are superior...I tried going guitar into GEM, then using the Midi thru to the Audya, thinking maybe the chord recognition in the GEM would send the signal to the Audya, but it didn't work that way...
