Chas, I "time code" everything by tying an event or place with the kind of car I was driving or a tune that was popular. For instance, when I was at the Midland, "Wham" an instrumental by a guy named Lonnie Mack was on the charts.
I was still driving my 1965 Karman Ghia, which I had just restored.
The wall graphic in the photo was a painting on the lounge wall at the Holiday Inn.
I was playing a pale green Gretsch single pick-up jazz guitar. While there, I bought an Ampeg Upright. That's the only house job I used it on. Still have it.
Can't get by on my looks...gotta rely on my memory.
Be well, friend,
Russ
(PS Lunch was a Rachael sandwich and fruit cup at Wines on Vine, a place I will be playing at in the near future).

First time I saw him (Lonnie), I went out and bought a Flying V. His had a traditional Bigsby attached. Couldn't cut mine up that way.
Unrecognized by many people, but an exciting, competent player and pretty good guy, so I've heard.
Lenny Kravitz is the current Flying V player, after The Winters brothers (Edgar and Johnnie).
R. PS Yea, bragging just a little, Chas.
