Unfortunately VAT is a lot more than USA/Connecticut Sales Tax which accounts for the difference - If Frank were in the UK the price would about the same.

Tony....being a big previous Ketron owner & player thru the years yes I'm very interested, But, at this time I need to see &
hear much more of the SD7 & it's features before I commit. Also with the ever pending & awaited New Yamaha S950 successor just around the corner a sit back & wait attitude might be the wise choice for now.

hmmmm ... so do we take it that YOU are not going to lose, Don?

Let me say this - I think this keyboard will be a game-changer. All the stuff I need in a fairly small footprint.
New interface, new OS, great mic processing/harmony, BIG color touch screen, joystick, audio drums, video outs built in, speakers (for monitor if nothing else), guitar input doubles as second mic input, compatible with Ketron footswitch (which I already have), etc.
It also has a "Phrase" mode in the recorder that allows you to record your own short sequences and have them loop in time with the style.
All the real-time controls seem to have well-located buttons within easy reach. Three USB connections, ability to add larger hard or solid state drive if needed, and more.
It has many of the features I loved on the Audya, plus it addressed some of the things I didn't like, such as placement of the mod and pb wheels. Weight is somewhat heavier than optimum for me, but still less than Audya. It is comparable in weight to Tyros but not as big and bulky.
It seems to have it's own niche between extreme top of the line and motl. I think it will compare favorably with anything on the market.
AJ has told me that he will personally open each box, and examine every unit that comes into the country, just to be certain everything is as it should be.
As far as ordering, I pretty sure the prices being offered now will be a one-time thing.

Probably not at the Tyros level(but also not at the cost either). Perhaps a step above the S950?

I am like Leezone in that I have an Audya 76, and coupled with my Centerpoint Spacestation, produces a sound, well, that is from outer space.

I would order it in a minute.

it is hard to get excited about a Keyboard you cant see here in so cal there is no one who has this unit how can you really be serious about a keyboard that you cant play and listen too !!!!!! it might be great and I hope it is but I would NEVER BUY ANYTHING with out playing it and listing too it .

You will be able to see and play with it here (for a start, while we work towards opening more dealerships willing to stock as many dealers are now requesting we place the products in their stores on consignment).

I had a conversation with AJ yesterday regarding AJAMSONIC becoming the distributor of Ketron keyboards in the USA. I started selling Solton keyboards back in 1995 and continued until 2010 when several issues caused me to stop stocking Ketron products. It is possible that after 5 years of not selling Ketron products we might be getting a few Ketron keyboards back in the store for sale and demoing.
I'm happy to see that AJ's company has now become the distributor as well as being able to give support to the end user and manufacture additional add ons and be available for technical support. It was over 10 years ago I introduced AJ to the owners at the time of Bell Duovox in New York and encouraged the owners to hire AJ as a technical support person. I met AJ through the Synthzone as a customer and thought he would be a great asset to Ketron. AJ has given much time and effort in making this happen. Congratulations AJ!

George, ALL Ketron owners should contribute heavily to the "Keep AJ Healthy and Happy Fund." If AJ goes away, so does Ketron in this part of the world.

Amen on the AJ part from me too. I motivated a friend to buy the Audya blind, bazed only on my experience in listening to tbe demoes. When he could not cope with it, I bought it from him.

AJ has done much more than his share in helping me & upgrading me. I will buy ANY product blind from him without hesitation.

Thanks for all your support so far in providing you with quality products and service from KETRON. In our quest to reach out to you our users, I wanted to clarify any doubts that without me (AJ) or the company AJAM Inc., KETRON would not exist in the USA.

As George Kaye mentioned above, my team and I have been with KETRON now since 2002 and invested a lot of time, energy and $$ into trying to grow the company from where we met it years ago. Before we got into the picture, KETRON was doing well in the USA under the BELL DOUVOX distributors. As is the case with any company, there is always room for improvement and growth.

We had promised you a while back that we would be opening up old and new service centers within the USA and we have, and will continue doing so wherever we see the demand for them.


As examples only ...

** AUDIOWORKS in CT (203-876-1133) is a well know KETRON dealer and a recently authorized repair center. Within the past few months, we have been to Frank's location a few times and have offered his team training on servicing and repairing KETRON products. By so doing, we were able to also find other service centers close to Frank that already service musical instruments from Yamaha, Roland and Korg and they have agreed to also service KETRON products.

** In Fort Wayn, IN JAY FOX (260-483-6071) is also a well known authorized dealer and repair center that not only handles KETRON products but also MIDI accordions and other related products. Jay fox is a professional player and offers excellent service too.

** Pete Mallett in Silvis IL (309-755-0581) is a professional Electronics Engineer who has been working on KETRON products since the Programmer-1 (that's before my days). Pet is also a dealer who services most musical electronic gear including KETRON.

** Pro Tech - associated with Washington Music Center in Wheaton MD (240-450-0308 )has been an authorized repair center for KETRON since 1998 in the Silver Spring/Wheaton area in MD. They do an outstanding job and have yet to send us a repair they couldn't handle!

** Vince Ramos (281 204-7716):- A dedicated KETRON Sales rep located in Houston TX since 1998. Vince has covered the Houston (TX) area for years and assists dealers there with sales and servicing of KETRON equipment. Vince occasionally does demos and is very knowledgeable especially on the SD1!

** John Deep (407-353-1010):- Another dedicated KETRON sales rep and service man in the Orlando (FL) area. Not only is John a talented guitar player but also a service rep Electrician who knows these instruments inside ... and out.

** Pro Audio Brooklyn (NY)(845-656-9036):- Pro Audio carry most Arrangers (including KETRON) and are authorized to work on KETRON product. They have actually been very helpful in giving suggestions used in future products due to their professional training in Sound and Electronic Engineering.

** Kaye's Music Scene - Tarzana (CA) (818-881-5567):- Although not yet an authorized service center, we are working with the owner (George Kaye) to see if we can re-establish a relationship with their previous repair center. George is a well established Arranger guru - especially within the Ethnic Musical world and has dealt with KETRON for years (before the recent 5 year break). We welcome him back.

World of Stereo (San Francisco Bay area, CA):415-626 1195-:- Our latest addition to the family. This professional audio, studio and DJ store in the San Francisco Bay Area recently took upon carrying KETRON products. A large store with 2 other stores in the State, World of Stereo is promising to be a great location where one can actually go and see, play and listen to KETRON products. We are working with nearby service centers to ensure that they can service KETRON products as well.

** There are over 22 service centers/dealers throughout the USA that work on/sell KETRON equipment and you can call us for a service next to you. That is a small number in comparison to many other companies, but as you see, the number is growing which means ... we are doing something right.

** You can also contact the main factory KETRON directly at Ketron@Ketron.it for any service related issues and your email will be replied as quickly as possible ... since we are also following up with them to make sure emails and phone calls are responded to in a timely manner. Their direct number is also on their website (www.Ketron.it), and this is not true for all companies (in other words, being able to have a direct access number to the CEO or managers in charge of the company).

The USA distribution network has grown since we took over barely 5 months ago. Gradually, we hope that we can achieve our goal of providing the best service, the best products and all for a reasonable price.

With the previous distributors (CMC), KETRON product support in the USA (for over 5 years) was offered only once a week (Mondays only - remember)? Now, it is offered every weekday and Saturdays too. KETRON is not going away anytime soon, regardless of AJAM Inc. or whoever any future distributor is. With the time and efforts invested in KETRON, I think we will stick around for a while (God willing). We believe in the products and stand by them and that is a rear combination to find these days.
