An update on a very old idea...circa 1991 actually.

http://www.vintagesynth.com/oberheim/strummer.php

There was a unit called "Charlie Lab Digitar midi guitar interface" that also simulated a guitar interface for a synth. Pretty slick.

Guitar mode in korg arrangers? Thisnis what it ultimately could be...

Also Karma allows for strumming and many things we have seen in the video..

Its a really fun VST, and i think this is what they should add to arrangers, its playable, its fun, and it makes audio guitars (ketron) and the rest of audio styles a thing of the past before it even was a major thing..

I would not be surprised if something akin made it to Tyros 6 and the next Motif series

or vice versa. Play the organ on your guitar.

The Guitorgan a custom wired guitar.

You get that as standard with the Ajamsonic upgrade.

This feels so much like a gimmick

The huge difference between a guitarplayer and an arranger is that the arranger requires a good guitar sound for its styles.. well, and i can not see any use for a guitarplayer playing organ sounds on its guitar...

Nor will it be hard to find any guitarplayers aspiring this... you can not compare a guitarplayers needs with those of an arranger player.

But then this goes much deeper then what Ajamsonic allows it has 3 different modes, which all work differently.

Even tough this(Ajamsonic) is a good example, just like the Tyros ensemble voices, of innovations from the software world finding its way to the hardware crowd.. There is many many more other things that would add more depth to arrangers..

That's why I'm convinced arrangers have not reach it's pinnacle yet. I think we should be ready to be stunned by what is yet to come. The engineers working on these are very creative indeed.

Actually there not, as everything you see on an arranger has been available in the pro market for at least 5 years, arranger designers just put these features in a form that a novice can play with little effort.

One thing to remember as well, talk to arranger manufacturers on the quiet, and they will all tell you the same thing, arranger sales are on the slide as people get bored with playing along to a style and now want something they can actually play themselves, (Rather than the style doing most of the work) hence nearly all manufactures have teamed up with 3rd party suppliers (Or crated their own) to add additional keyboards and pedals. (Styles are good, but not as satisfying as playing it yourself)

Hi Bill,

Some, like me, can't play those themselves. I am good at pushing the right chords & buttons, hence I really, but really enjoy arrangers & what they offer.

I'm convinced that soon at least Ketron will come forward with something really amazing once again. But then, that's just my opinion

Cheers,

Henni
