What is the latest thinking, can anyone recommend software, free or otherwise that I can put lyrics on an iPad2 with 16gb? And is there any stand recommendation? Stand alone or putting it on a mic stand. I would be playing a guitar, so, probably sitting on a stool. Thank you.

I just use a word processor, like MS Word, or Open Office. I'm sure there are some for Ipad. There are for Android.

I think I want something that uses pdf files, as I have notes written on lyric sheets that are many years old and have formatted the text to be as large as possible for the sheet. Plus, the iPad is much less obtrusive than a laptop.

If I get serious, I also need to find a good page turner, foot-switch gizmo... I have seen them over the years.

I am doing fine, Tony, rocking along okay and hope it continues!

Hi,
I've used Unreal book for some time now with good results.
Go to http://www.diystompboxes.com/unrealbook/ and you will find the bluetooth page turner Airturn BT-105 listed in accessories. Don't know the price because I don't need it (keyboard player).
I put my lyrics/lead sheets in .pdf format into Dropbox and use the "remote file" function to download from Dropbox.
Hope this helps

unReal book is what I prefer, I have been using it for 3 or 4 years. It's basically a PDF reader with lots of ehancements like creating as many play lists as you may need and they can be done in minutes before a gig . For page turning I use the Cicada Page Flip it pairs very easily with the iPad is a compact unit with page forward and backward.

I use iBook for lyrics and Unreal Book for music sheets. It works fine for me, but I donīt use any pedal to change pages.

Since I have a K&M stand, I bought a dedicated K&M stand for the iPad which fits pretty well not being intrusive.

I would be happy to upload a picture, but apparently this is not possible without a link to somewhere in the web (or I donīt know how to do it properly).

Cheers,

Bill,
I have been using the Real Book and Gigit. The problem I found with Real Book is that once you scanned the music there is no way to edit. Gigit is an app that allows you to edit the lyrics.

Having said all that I have just moved into the OnSong app. Great, I can edit, change keys, use PDF files – and a bunch of other things. The set filling system is the best I have seen. You can even write yourself a note an place on your music in a different color so it stands out.
