My way is to pop them onto a floppy disk and then copy them singly or as a whole via the keyboard onto your SD Card.

Bernie, From what is left of my memory. There was a program written by, oops I just lost the name, that gave you access to the computer and SD card.

Putting one song at a time with a floppy is a forever. I did that when Bebop was sending out 1 for 20.

I kinda remember you having the program?????? If not do a search in Synthzone for the program. Hope this helps.

Good luck, John C.

SD Explorer doesn't handle MIDI files (but the next version of the software will).

Techmanager 7000 does handle MIDIs if you have that.

I've attached a PDF file I made to help an Antipodean friend and member with MIDI imports. I'll write an article from this info eventually but this PDF should have all the steps you need Bernie.

When importing MIDIs it's best to do about 20 or max 40 at a time because the KN7000's display scrolls rather slowly if you try more than that. I ignored the first person who told me that and then wished I hadn't laugh

Wow ! That is great. I see a lot has been added to your site, very nice.

This is what I need, and is very much appreciated, until the other software becomes available.

I knew you couldn't stick onto the card en mass without registering the file, so I will give it a go in the next day or so and report back.

That was a lot of work.
Thanks again. I will see you at the other site.

NO problem Bernie, you're welcome.

Here are some instructions that are missing from the PDF file (where I refer to instructions in a previous email):

Make a folder on the SD card called IMEXPORT (that first letter is a capital i)

Put MIDI files in that folder.

Now put the SD card in the KN7000.

Press the yellow SD button.

Go to SD Sound Import.

Now you must press the SEL button for each MIDI file you want to import. When you press SEL you will see an asterisk next to the file. You can SEL (select) as many files as you want (edit - try 20 or 40 at a time).

I have attached the section from the manual to help (edit: image uploaded here at Synthzone).

When you press OK the files will be imported into a playlist. This playlist exists on the SD card, not in the instrument.

What it has done is changed the MIDI files so that they are ready to be used on the keyboard.

Now, you can play the MIDI files (SD Sound files) from the playlist.

There are a few ways to do that:

You can just press the play button that is next to the SD Card slot.

Or you can press and hold the yellow SD Button.

If neither of those are good for you, take a look around page 140 in the user manual.

Hi Bill,

I'm STILL listening to your KN7000 tracks off your site in the car on the way to work, really enjoying them.

Bernie,

It's always well worth a good look through the tips on Bill's site because virtually all essential KN7000 questions are answered in them, it's a great resource.

Bill has been my mentor for more than a few years and you are,of course, correct.

Thank you for the additional information.
