I haven't seen a user manual for the new Korg PA3X le yet. Because I have the original PA3X Pro model, I'm curious as to what the new le model has or doesn't have compared to the original model. I'm also curious as to if the original PA3x is now being discontinued? This would make selling the older model more difficult if the le model has upgraded sounds and features. I thought The term "le" generally seems to signify limited edition

I'm also trying to figure out where the PA3X le fits into the product line in regards to the PA 300, 600 and 900, all having 61 keys.

Could the LE model be missing aftertouch, thereby using a less expensive keybed?

I downloaded the user manual a while back. The "new" model lacks the banks of programmable sliders (also used for drawbars). It lacks the MAXX sound processing. It lacks separate buttons for right hand sounds. Not sure if you can use the FC5 foot controller. Not sure if it has phantom power. (PA900 does not, PA3X does).
I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things. I can't see any reason to change from a PA3X, unless you have a 61 and want 76 keys.
Another important thing to me would be whether it offers a chord recognition mode that the PA3X had and the PA900 does not have. That is the mode that allows you, in split mode, using styles to play three note chord and not have the the chord change until you play another three note chord. This lets you play individual left hand notes between chords. I miss this. No way to really know without playing one.

The PA3X LE DOES have aftertouch, just look at the specs at korg.com.
http://www.korg.com/us/products/synthesizers/pa3x_le/page_3.php

Another difference to the full PA3X is that it has PCM RAM of 192MB like the PA900 compared to 256MB in the PA3X (which you have to add by inserting the expansion board).

Hi..
The Pa3xLE is a Pa900 in a case like Pa3x with 76 Keys...
All possibilities, OS, etc is from Pa900...
The Pa3x remain the top model of Korg up to release the new (top) Arranger...
However I think is very good keyboard, with all Favorite New Sounds of Pa3x, (like Pa900) and if you not interested for the 256 RAM (or 512 Compress RAM), 4 Balanced OUT, SPDIF Digital OUT of Pa3x, 8 Stereo Digital Multi-Effects, Full Natural Ambience Drums Kit Sound of Pa3x is a very good choice...
Also the Pa3xLE can to load from all previous Pa Series Models sounds, and styles and full set, and in Pa3xLE included some Dr.samples of New Ambient Drum Kits of Pa3x...
And of cousre Pa3xLE can to load styles and sounds of Pa3x, without compressed Set, but uncompress PCM sounds up to 192mb....

It's also a good way to sell off existing leftover stock parts in a different wrapper wink
