Just wondering how strict the Yamaha pricing model is, no matter where you go, everyone in europe has the Tyros 5 76 keys on offer for €4190 ... In local shops and on the interwebs

So doesnt Yamaha allow dealers to go any lower in advertisements, or arent dealers allowed to break that price at all?

In the U.S., the dealer can sell at any price he wants. Can't speak for other countries.
Anyone who pays advertised price here is not getting the least expensive deal!

As far as I have heard from my dealer in Germany, there is the official (high) price of the manufacturer and a precisely defined scope down to a lower limit. The dealer is not allowed to go lower. In most cases this lower limit is the online price of virtually all online dealers.

Then find another dealer! You could buy one from Frank in Connecticut and pay to have it shipped over there and still be way ahead.

Sorry, I wasn't clear: No dealer in Germany is allowed to go lower than the lower limit set by the manufacturer.
It often appears lucrative to order in the US, but in addition to shipping the German customs add 19 percent of import VAT, and that makes it as expensive as buying it here.

As probably here in Holland, 4190 euros is the lowest price they are allowed to sell... its the same price in Holland and in Germany....

we have however 21% VAT included in Holland... still the price is the same.. Yamaha sets the prices, if you sell lower, you loose your dealership.

Yamaha says it is to fight online sellers and support the LMS.. As arrangers require some form of service.

Strange and stupid thing, in all my years i never realised this, as i never bought a Yamaha arranger.. and my old T1 and S90ES where 2nd owners..

This however is what makes T5 so much more expensive then PA3X in europe...

Price withouth VAT in the US is 5250, i think thats also the absolute allowed minimum, luckilly in the US some people are not bothered by this and still sell cheeper after a phonecall...

I looked up some prices of keyboard hardware at Sweetwater and comparable companies in the US, these are dollar prices. all 61 keys versions. The workstations listed are all the topmodels of the brands

Yamaha Tyros 5 ----- 5250
Yamaha Motif XF ----- 2500
Yamaha MOXF ----- 1200
Yamaha PSR S950 ----- 1900
Korg PA3X ----- 3700
Korg Kronos X ----- 3200
Kurzweil PC3K ----- 2400
Nord Electro 4 ----- 2200
Ketron Audya 5 ----- 3800
Wersi Pegasus Wing ----- 3500

Just tell me what you notice?

Expensive...

But the Audya 5 and 4 are quite less expenmsive then the Audya that orriginally released with 76 keys.... price difference with the other models for a 15 key update is minor but fot the Audya its quite large...

But then compared to the T5 everything else is cheep...
