Donny ... I don't know about you, but pretty much all I could hear was bass and drums, and some keys on occasion ... vocals we drowned out in the mix ...

It's an "APP" for crying out loud .. not a professional looper. I've been watching the Tonight show on and off since Jimmy Fallon took over ... jury's still out for me. He's charming and funny (sometimes) but I don't like the Roots, and his musical choices are not keeping my interest. I miss Johnny. Leno never did it for me either.

My least favorite late-night band. They pick uninspiring choices and the vocals are terrible. One man's opinion. This is a generational gap, for sure ... just not my style.

... everyone is entitled to my opinion. (you should have added the same!)
I admit ... they CAN play .. I just don't like WHAT they play on the commercial breaks. It's a small point, as I'm not really a fan of the show anyway ... I was just tuning in to see some of the networks attempts to "wow" us in the early days. I never watched him in his old slot ... I don't expect much to change in this new time slot. He's an OK comedian ... can't keep a straight face, and seems genuine enough, but he lacks that STAR quality. Maybe that's the strategy - he makes his quests feels at ease and they look more entertaining next to him. He's not the kind of presence that will intimidate anyone, that's for sure.
Enough chit-chat .... I got guitar to play!

I happen to agree with Dave on the band - and I miss Jay Leno. I stopped watching the show two shows after he left. The show is no longer very creative or the least bit funny - IMO.

Ummm, have to agree with Dave and Gary on this one. Don't like the Roots (they try too hard to be more than just the band) OR Fallon (just not funny to me - fire the writers?). Of course, Jay got off to a lukewarm start as well but finally won us over - more or less. I think I'm going to wait until his two-year 'break-in' period is over and then tune back in.

Jack Paar, Steve Allen. . .they were the only thing on "late" nights back then. We only got 3 stations and two signed off at 10:30. You could watch Tonight, or Test Patterns.
Dave we can all agree to disagree........... so lets leave it at that shall we?... Now at tonight's gig I'll pump up some Doo Wop for sure. 16 candles, More Code of love, Life is but a dream, Runaround Sue, Earth Angel, etc,.....Yeah!
Heres a short Doo Wop demo "16 Candles" First time mutitracking harmonies & lead Vocals as I learn to record on the Boss BR-800 enjoy..
