A local NH wants me to come in and do a hymn sing. I need about 40 minutes of hymns that lend themselves to arranger playing. What are some of the other standards like "Saints" and "I'll Fly Away" that I can play? Thanks in advance for any help offered.

I saw the light
How great thou art
In the garden
Peace in the valley

My favorites.

Don't forget Amazing Grace. For this one I use a slow Celtic style and bagpipe voice, followed by strings.
And for something uptempo, This Old House, compiled with When The Saint's Come Marching In.
Also, Will The Circle Be Unbroken, use a good bluegrass style for it and they'll love it.

Good Luck,

Gary cool
